I'm gonna ignore his stat line & only focus on his +/- which was -19.

#tradehim

Or you could focus on the fact that he was 8-18 despite likely all of his shots coming in the paint. Or that despite taking all of those shots he only went to the line once.

His 5 offensive rebounds are pretty good though.

Joe Harris I think is better...and he was a G leaguer for us.

Joe Harris is a 3 point specialist. He's useful in that role and the Cavs never exploited it. Instead you got rid of him and brought in Korver to do the same thing for more money and less defense.

And I often question the irrational comments made by Heat fans because it's an NBA/sports forum.

Oh the funny irony of this comment. I can think of one batshit crazy Cavs fan that has said overly homeristic nonstop nonsense for years. And his name rhymes with Ziggy.

hard to give a rookie 2nd rounder that needs serious development playing time on a team with title aspirations.

Joe Harris was never going to develop on a team like the Cavs- constantly going to NBA Finals.

Instead they had Kyle Korver- one of the best 3 pt shooters in history who shot something crazy like 45% from 3 during his Cavs tenure.

if you are a shitball team that wins 1 playoff series over 6 years its a lot easier to give young guys development time than if you are competing for championships.

LOL that is the worst stat. The losing team usually has all - guys, the winning team usually has + guys

TT also had zero TO's. That's just icing on the cake

he actually tied for the team lead in assists with 4--- lol...which is not good for business but with a couple point guards that cant legally drink yet that will happen from time to time.

Connaughton with 17 and no misses lolz. Hard to beat the Bucks when he goes off
Made it a point to stop Giannis and did. some nights that will work, some it will bite ya.

And props to Nance and TT for doing what was asked on Giannis.

It's an NBA forum. Many Heat and Cav fans here compared to most other NBA teams.

And there's the irrational mentioned by Heat fans that we often question....followed by deflection like you provide.

Any luck with the G-leaguers?

At this point, they could resign him to a short extension that isn't too high. I'm not suggesting like 10M/year...bench players get more than that these days. But if he is playing this well I am okay with giving him an extension at like $14-16M a year for a couple years and one option year. So at the worst he has one more year at $16M...I mean he is playing some great bball. Still early so we will see

He didn't progress over night. 2-3 years later he vastly improved and got playing time on a bad team. Danny Green was another guy, but he went to a team that was the perfect for him, it worked out. He became a very nice piece to the Spurs and their championship runs about 3-4 years later.
Cavs organization helped develop both these players.

At this point he might as well test FA. Still young and has rarely been an injury risk.

OK, but he's no better than guys the Cavs had in the G-league. I'd take Joe Harris over T. Johnson, for instance.

And, no, T Johnson is not starting over Sexton nor Garland. Osman is in the Cavs starting lineup. He's no more than a JAG is he?
one of the other funny things is him talking about Nunn like he is an actual prospect.

Right now Garland is 19 years old. Sexton is 20 years old. These guys are high level athletes with great work ethics that left school early because of their immense talent.

Kendrick Nunn is a 4 year college player from Oakland college that went undrafted and is 24 years old. This is Giannis' 7th season in the league and he is 24 years old. LOL. Donovan Mitchell is in his 3rd year in the league and is YOUNGER than Nunn.

shouldnt be a huge surprise that a 4 year college player that is 24 years old that is a consensus non-prospect has some immediate success- especially when gifted a large amount of playing time- but its clear that at the end of the day he was undrafted and a 4 year college player for a reason.

I wonder what Garland would look like right now if he was a 4 year college player and 24 years old - instead of just turning 19 a few months ago.

Giannis is almost unstoppable.

When driving he is, gotta force him to take jumpshots. Cavs actually did a very good job on him especially not having the perfect guy to defend him.

5-15 only 14 points but he had 10 rebounds and 7 assists. It is hard to do a better job than that and with the plethora of shooting he has around him, he will get his shooters open shots. That's why the Bucks are so dangerous. Last night it was Connaughton that gave them a spark, then Middleton and Lopez joined in, then Matthews and Korver. Did a great job on Giannis but you have to pick one or the other: try to stop Giannis, let shooters open and hope they miss or both go off...and then you are really in trouble.

I don’t know if you got the Hawks feed but their announcer was being so dramatic about it that I felt embarrassed for him.

I was listening to the Sixers feed. They were mostly shocked. As was just about everyone else watching the game that wasn't a straight Hawks homer.

If that is the standard for a flagrant 2 then we are going to see a LOT of ejections this year.

I'm not really negging the Cavs for not developing Harris. I was mostly responding to @dtgold88 trying to argue that Harris was some G leaguer.
