Very happy the way the leaders have handled things so far here in Toronto and Canada in general.
All political sides have worked together.
They are all meeting.
We have daily local provincial and federal health press conferences from health authorities.
Here in Toronto the majority have listened. The nicer weather has brought more people out the last few days forcing them to close all local parks now.

Buckle up everyone.
I dont think we have even begun yet

And i think we will be living in a very different world once this is all done.

Liquor beer and weed stores were deemed essential here so they are still open lol

Thing about this corona shit is you don't know how it will hit you.

It either isn't too bad where you just self isolate for 2 weeks and never report to the hospital or it can hit you hard where you're in ICU and possibly die

Like, seriously...

This is the internet.

I could be some Dude in Adak Alaska that works in CVS and is pretending to be in the Healthcare industry.

Don't take my word for it.

But, John Hopkins?

Yeah, they probably know a thing or two.

It's like the flu so we can predict how this will end: FALSE.

The COVID-19 situation is changing rapidly. Since this disease is caused by a new virus, people do not have immunity to it, and a vaccine may be many months away. Doctors and scientists are working on estimating the mortality rate of COVID-19, but at present, it is thought to be higher than that of most strains of the flu.

Coronavirus Disease 2019 vs. the Flu

It's mostly old people with serious complications: FALSE

An analysis of 45,000 confirmed cases in China, where the epidemic originated, show that the vast majority of deaths were among the elderly (14.8 percent mortality among over 80s).

But another Chinese study showed that 41 percent of serious cases occurred among under 50s, compared with 27 percent among over 65s.

"It's true that if you're older you're at greater risk, but serious cases can also happen in relatively young people with no prior conditions," said French deputy health minister Jerome Salomon.

No, Coronavirus Isn't 'Just Like The Flu'. Here Are The Very Important Differences

This repetitive regurgitation of outdated info is dandangerous. But, what do I know? I'm just some Dude in Alaska...lol

Coronavirus Is Bad. Comparing It to the Flu Is Worse

So, perception is reality, right?

This is nothing like the flu.

The Flu doesn't spread this far, this fast.

The Flu doesn't live on surfaces for 3 days.

...most importantly, the flu has a cure.

The fact is, it is mainly elderly people and people who have other health issues who are dying. In this respect it is very similar to every flu season.

The bold is the only place where I said anything about it being like the flu and the statement is correct.

A 36 year old teacher in NYC died from it a few days ago. My coworker 21 or 22 year old is hospitalized in bad shape with it right now

Sorry anyone has died and I hope your co-worker recovers.

But this is anecdotal. No one has said that it's ONLY elderly people and those with other issues that are dying.

It is mainly the elderly and people with other issues.

I'm not necessarily speaking towards your post.

I hear people repeating that notion everywhere and it's wrong.

So far....

That's, unfortunately, starting to change.

Michigan and Louisiana having the most new deaths is interesting. Under 2,000 cases but 65 deaths in Louisiana. Not a good trend at all.
Poor healthcare, perhaps?

That is a huge factor as well.

What i found interesting recently is that everyone been blaming the careless actions we been seeing on millennials when it isn't even our generation that been doing those silly things.

Kind of ironic.

James Dolan was the 1 owner who wanted to keep playing with fans a couple weeks ago.

Now NY is absolutely ravaged.

Stay safe @bksballer89 and all other New Yorkers.

Going to work is scary even though the city is empty. Doing the best that I can to avoid catching it

Yep. I hate people who do that.
Yeah, some folks think they're the smartest in the room.

Really, they have shit for brains outside their areas of expertise.

I think I'll run down to the Surgical Unit and bang out a triple bypass on my lunch break.

I stayed in a Holiday in last night. So, should be good to go, yeah?

I hear people repeating that notion everywhere and it's wrong.

And those people are idiots.

Really, the one of the biggest problems I see is with the social media aspect of this.

People show twitter posts and snapchat videos of idiots licking toilet seats, or partying and want to freak out and like that's what the majority of people are doing.

The overwhelming majority of people are taking some sort of precautions based on what's appropriate for their situation.
