Warriors have three examples of this:

Steph
Klay
KD

2 out of 3 ain't bad.

Yep...and after PG saying he didn't meet with the Lakers because they didn't try hard enough to trade for him...there's no way they're going to miss out on an opportunity to let AD know they want him.

Last thing they need is him signing with someone else 10 seconds into free agency and then saying "They never offered me an extension." lol

The Lakers need some help off the bench. There's no denying it. At the moment they're far too inconsistent: One day they score 70 off the bench, the next only 5. The lack of efficiency from the 2nd unit has cost them a couple of win already; most notably against the Clippers on Christmas day.

As much as I like Kuz, and as much as I hope they hold on to him, if they can get a player who is consistent night after night, then they should at least listen to offers.

But by the sounds of it they'll probably go for a guy like Collison and cut Cook to make room for him. Also hoping for Iggy but that probably won't happen.

Saw an article today about the possibility of a trade for Covington that involves Kuzma. The article did say though, that the T-Wolves may try to start a bidding war and the Lakers likely couldn't keep up if that happens.

Collison would be a great pickup if they can get him.

Dude....

You know what 2 guys I think the Lakers should target?

* please note that I'm not trolling, I'm being serious*

Alex Burks or Grayson Allen.

Burks is the O.G. version of Jordan Clarkson and even though he's a dick, Grayson can shoot the long ball.

He's only getting 17 mins a game for the Grizzly.

But, he's shooting 40 % from 3.

Collison in game shape is a massive upgrade to Rondo or Bradley.

They are WASHED.

Agree that Rondo is washed. Bradley can't seem to stay healthy. He was playing pretty well until he had the knee issue.

Then he was looking pretty good again the other night when he sprained his ankle.

Burks for Kuzma. Let's get it done.

Dude, I don't think I'd even be interested if I'm the Lakers.

12 ppg, shooting 43 %, with 2 years left on his deal?

You have other options.

I gotta think every Knick, outside of Barrett, Robinson and Knox are available for a price.

Maybe Morris is out of reach without a pick.

But, Portis, Taj Gibson can be had for a shimmy and a shake.

Ditto for Crowder and probably Kent Bazemore.

Evan Turner?

Burks shoots 37% from 3, which isn't bad either. Allen only getting 17 minutes on a bad team could be concerning depending on the reason.

If either can play defense, that would be even better. I wouldn't want to give up Kuz for either of them though.

Stop it!!!

Lmfao

You know that's not what I was suggesting.

15.8 ppg, 4.5 rpg, 3.0 apg on 42.3/36.4/88.9 with a 16.8 PER

or

11.8 ppg, 3.5 rpg, 0.8 apg on 42.0/34.6/73.7 with a 10.7 PER

You're right, Lakers need to throw in some future picks as well.

I think you guys can beat any Western Conference team, except the Clippers.

I think every team in the West playoff race can beat the Clippers, except the Lakers.

Who knows if the battle for LA will even come to fruition in the playoffs.

I know the playoffs are all about matchups.

But, you gotta be careful about restructuring the roster based on one team.

And that is exactly what the problem is.

The Lakers starting 5 is arguably the best in the league right now. But the main problem is that the bench can't maintain any lead.

Last couple of weeks its happened twice where they have a 15-20 point lead going in to the 4th, they rest both Lebron and AD in the hope for them to sit out the rest of the game, and the 2nd unit just fucks everything up forcing them to play Lebron and AD again

Yeah, against the Suns and Pistons they can almost get away with that. This shit don't fly against teams like the Clippers though

Oh, yeah....

That's why I suggested them.

Couple of 2nd rounders could do it and you'd still have Danny and Kuz.

As for defense....

* Ummmm, errrrr, various sounds of hesitation*

Does tripping count?

I think you can get better on the fringes without losing Kuz.

But, to get a legit #3...

You might have to sacrifice him.

But, what available guy fits that bill?

I got nothing.

Collison, a scorer like Burks and maybe a guy like Crowder seems more doable.....imo

They check all the boxes..

Playmaker, Super scoring sub, 3 and D.

Honestly the Warriors have some attractive vets that could help a lot of teams.

Willie Cauley-Stein could help the Celtics out. They'll need another big to help them in the playoffs when they potentially face Embiid. They're very thin in the front court.

Burks could help any number of teams. He's been ballin this year and could put a team over the top. Burks is a much more ideal fit to the Lakers right now than Kuzma. Kuzma has more long term value as a player, but Burks is undeniably what they need. He could also help out the Bucks or the Mavs. The Rockets could also use him, but I doubt they're helping out Morey. And he might be able to push a team on the cusp of making the playoffs into that position. Wolves, Blazers, Suns, etc.

Yeah, right now, I think the best move for them would be to get Collison if they can and hope Kuz continues to play well and develops into that 3rd scorer.

Burks absolutely seems like a Morey type of target, even with Gordon back and Mcelmore contributing.

Please don't help them....lol

I would love to have Trill.

Clippers were likely going to take him had he not returned to school for that year.

Many Mocks had WCS to the Clippers and I was bummed when he didn't come out.

My only issue with Burks is his injury history.

Dude plays big in his contract year.

But, he limps thru the duration of his entire contract.

So, I question if this is sustainable.

59, 64, 78, 27, 31, 42, 64....

Those are his games played thru his career.

I wouldn't give up a younger, cheap Kuz who averaged 18 last year for a broken toy.

The Raptors 5 starters tonight are 5 totally different players who started against the Blazers earlier this season.

We have also already passed man games lost this season then we had last.

Yet we continue to fight and find players

Nick Nurse is a top 5 coach
