Anybody wanna wager on some NBA games?

Okay. First you gotta give me $14,420 of your SportsHoopla cash. I can't afford to lose any of my own fake money.

Ok now i understand why he did it

Yep, the Lakers did what exactly what they should do and offered him the extension that would save them some money.

AD then did exactly what he should do and said "Nah, y'all gonna pay me." lol

Why did they bother to make this public?

I'm not even sure why the Lakers even bothered to make this offer.

No way was he taking it.

Maybe they were trying to get a commitment before they blow their roster up by trading Kuz or Green for a 3rd Star, ala LeBron in Cleveland when they had a chance to land George?

Otherwise, doesn't make sense.

Just one of those things you have to do, even though you know the answer.

They know he's going to ask for the full max. He knows they're going to offer the full max. And they both know that the Lakers are going to pay the full max.

But they have to do the dance. lol

No, no, no.....

I like my version better.

He's totally leaving in Free Agency.

So, the Lakers are going to package him with Kyle Kuzma and trade him to the Pistons for the Ghost of Blake Griffin.

Warriors have three examples of this:

Steph
Klay
KD

2 out of 3 ain't bad.

Ah...

Now I see why the Lakers are listening to offers for Kuz.

Not only is it wise to do your due diligence..

But, they have very few other avenues to improve outside of the buyout market or dealing Kuz or Green.

Clippers paid a steep price to land their duo.

But, they still managed to hold onto their 1st round pick that can be used to land a piece this year.

Pretty good breakdown of what the LA teams, Heat, Rockets and Dallas has as assets to try and make a deadline deal.

The Lakers were smart to give up their draft picks for AD because it will net them first or second place in the Western Conference where their first round pick will be worth little and the second round - next to zero. By trading for some one else's first round - they will move up the line in the pick and get something better then what their's would be.

I am on the fence on Kuzma and am hoping that in the next month he can turn it around - not that the Lakers are shopping him. The trade for Bogdan from Sacramento - would cost them twice as much as Kuzma is getting, but they would be adding a Shooting Guard with potential who is already a sharp shooting.

On the other hand, I would love to see the Lakers keep Kuzma and move him to the shooting guard position and see if he can play it effectively

The Lakers need some help off the bench. There's no denying it. At the moment they're far too inconsistent: One day they score 70 off the bench, the next only 5. The lack of efficiency from the 2nd unit has cost them a couple of win already; most notably against the Clippers on Christmas day.

As much as I like Kuz, and as much as I hope they hold on to him, if they can get a player who is consistent night after night, then they should at least listen to offers.

But by the sounds of it they'll probably go for a guy like Collison and cut Cook to make room for him. Also hoping for Iggy but that probably won't happen.

Collison in game shape is a massive upgrade to Rondo or Bradley.

They are WASHED.

But, I'd dump Dudley, Daniels before Cook.

Valid point about Kuz.

The problem with trading him is his salary.

He doesn't make enough to bring back a big return and the guys that you'd want to add to match money have no trade clauses.

Danny Green is the only guy that could get you a Morris, Iggy in a trade.

Is either one of those guys as a addition enough to get you even with the Clippers if you lose Danny and Kuz?

Tough decision.

I think you guys can beat any Western Conference team, except the Clippers.

I think every team in the West playoff race can beat the Clippers, except the Lakers.

Who knows if the battle for LA will even come to fruition in the playoffs.

I know the playoffs are all about matchups.

But, you gotta be careful about restructuring the roster based on one team.
