They're not going to win more than 42 games but they are a fun team to watch. Young guys giving it all they've got. I like watching this team whether they win or not.

The West looks like it's going to be like the Wild, Wild West this year. Good times.

Are you happy that the Hawks made the Young-Doncic trade in retrospect?

Usual suspects will say way overpaid...that he should be a backup.

Guessing Cavs feel the same since they paid him like a backup.
i like that it carries him through his prime years at a very reasonable rate.

Cavs are doing a good job signing some of these young guys up to keep a good base (like Osman and Nance Jr.) but also maintaining flexibility.

I might even lean Windler over Porter Jr depending on how these rookies turn out. Belein loves Windler, can't wait to see this youngster out there finally

Cap space doesn't do you any good if you can't get players to sign with the team.
Cap space can let you take back bad contracts to get significant assets. Plus i dont even necesarily think they are going to be big players in free agency this upcoming year. II think they probably roll it over another year because of how limited the class is.

having flexibility and cap space is how teams are able to add assets and take some chances. Capped out teams with little flexibility have to surrender assets to make moves.

It's still better than to overpay players that don't deserve it. I would rather attempt at going for a player than have no shot. If the young guys can develop well it could draw interest from a guy on the FA market.

Also, it can let you be flexible with acquiring assets

What that jerkoff doesn’t get is that a public figure like Jimmy Butler needs to keep his reason private initially to protect his privacy. Last thing he needs is a dozen reporters waiting to speak to him at the hospital.

@WiggyRuss making himself look like a total assclown yet again. It still amazes me sometimes just how ignorant this dude is. Players he likes can do no wrong and players he doesn’t can do no right.

Yeah, he's definitely the biggest hypocrite here, and on a sports board that's pretty much the worst thing you can be

Its ok to like some guys and hate others but don't apply completely different standards to these guys, they are all athletes trying to get paid and win games.

Also, when you fuck up like he just did, have the confidence to admit it, laugh it off, move on. This guy never acknowledges so that is why he is an assclown

Only one game but Warriors going to struggle to stay in the playoffs race. Draymond need to be real aggressive on offense as he was in the conference finals vs Portland
Agreed, long season ahead and playoffs are not a lock. And that's ok, it's obviously a transition year, no one expects a title

I personally think this is where Draymond needs to show his real worth, this year. I'm not saying he was an important piece on those super teams, bc he definitely was but he can't be very inconsistent and he needs to step up offensively. I just doubt he can do those two things.

when it comes to WiggityWack one thing is clear in practically all of his postings. the guy has a personal axe to grind. it's actually funny AND pathetic at the same time...
He takes all this so seriously, I don't get it
Dude's so tightly wound, no sense of humor or chill

Got you. Thought you changed after seeing the clips play 2 games
Nah, check back in the predictions thread
Just about everyone picked Clippers Sixers including me.

And that looks even more right after seeing how the Clips already look.....without PG13

Until the Cavs can get another superstar, the only way they are going to get quality free agents is to overpay for them.

Did the Clippers look that good last night or did the Warriors look that bad?

I thought he should be #1 starting the season but I wouldn't say he is a sure #1 tbh. He might have the best supporting cast in the entire NBA WITHOUT PG and on the Raptors he had an amazing supporting cast. Right now still saying he is top 2 or 3 though. Giannis is definitely in the running of #1 right now.
I put him #1 after seeing him dominate in the playoffs...more so than Giannis

Next year these are the Cavs under contract:

Love: 31M
Nance Jr.: 12M
Osman: 9M
Garland: 7M
Sexton: 5M
Windler: 2M
Porter: 2M

no bad contracts. They will have a ton of flexibility, and likely another high lotto pick to add talent to the roster- and mayb even an additional first rounder they trade for.

Only $67M committed to next year as of right now.

PG: Garland
SG: Sexton
SF: Osman
PF: Love
C: Nance

bench: Porter, Windler
No bad contracts, no good players

As it often is, it's both

Clippers are the best team in the NBA and you don't really have to be a basketball genius to see that

Agree, but allows flexibility for trades. Pretty sure they'll need to get lucky on a draft pick again to be a contender.
