Seems to me you don't include families until the non playoff teams are out. I think they can manage not seeing family for three weeks. Or only bring families of playoff teams. Maybe that seems unfair but... Well life is unfair

It isn’t their families I am worried about.

Aside from like 2, the non playoff teams are already out. Let them stay at home and watch on TV like the rest of us.

I'm not necessarily against that thought process it just doesn't make sense to wait two more months imo then

There is no legitimate reason to bring back all 30 teams.

Do you think the Pistons and Wizards are going to take safety precautions that the Bucks and Lakers would?

The more people that are brought into the bubble, the higher the risk. These teams don’t need to be brought into the fold.

If the precautions are league mandated and all of the teams are in "the bubble" at the same location, then the Pistons and Wizards aren't going to have a choice but to take the same safety precautions that the Bucks and Lakers do.

As for a legit reason to bring back all 30 teams, I'll trust what the league decides is best. I'd be willing to bet that the #9 teams in each conference would want all 30 back as long there would be enough games to give them a shot.

Having said that, if I were going to bet real money, I would bet that it will be just the playoff teams.

At one point, the league was considering using both Vegas and Orlando. That would make sense if they were going to bring back all 30 teams.

However, Vegas is apparently no longer under consideration, so I would take that to mean that bringing back all 30 teams is also no longer under consideration. But the league isn't likely to announce it until they announce the actual plan.

I think the 2 more months more about getting them back into game shape.

The last thing I remember being kicked around was a 3 week training camp, followed by about 5 "regular season" games. Then the playoffs.

I'd guess Vegas is out for no other reason than putting that many millionaires in the biggest city of sin all at once can't be the best idea for social distancing lol

I'd assume that they would be kept in a self contained area like in Orlando. I think UNLV (since there would be no students) was under consideration.

Plus, I don't know how much of Vegas is actually open for them to participate in much sin. lol

Casinos and bars are opening again shortly

I mean what kind of security detail we talking here? I'm thinking they're worried they couldn't convince them to stay under wraps that long

Yeah, at the least, they may have anticipated that and decided to scrap it.

Also, I heard (I think it was yesterday) that the NHL is considering Vegas to resume their season. I don't know if that had anything to do with the NBA's decision though.

I really feel like if they go full on bubble quarantine they're thinking way too hard on how to test etc within that bubble. Test in... Test coming out and screen in between.

Precautions can be league mandated.

But unless the players are being held prisoner, it is a terrible idea to bring in teams that have nothing to play for. That equates to hundreds of extra people for no good reason.

Play a few tuneups and lets get to the playoffs.

I wouldn't exactly call them prisoners. But, "self contained", pretty much means that they aren't going to be outside of that area and others aren't going to be allowed in.

Again, from the info that has come out, it looks like they are going to go with just the playoff teams.

End of the day, the NBA is going to do what it feels is best for the league and the players and they aren't going to consult with any of us.

Really not sure why this is even still a discussion.

And I'm fn telling you that you didn't hear correctly. Or, if you did, he is speaking as a group of 1 and just doesn't know what he's talking about. The idea the owners would not have wanted this arrangement in the past or future is absurd.

Look mfer, I never said he was speaking for anyone. I simply typed out what I heard him say with my own 2 ears. Go pound sand and quit telling me what I did or didn’t hear. I promise you I know the entire story of the labor history in MLB, probably much better than you.

And that is my point.

Unless the league is somehow enforcing the containment, which is probably illegal, then they shouldn’t bring back any unnecessary personnel.

The season is far enough along to draw the line and say the top 16 are in and everybody else is out.

Don't get frazzled, My Friend.

@dtgold88 isn't a bad guy.

He just gets dug in on a topic and can't let it go sometimes.

I have been guilty of doing what he does, and reacting the way you did.....many, many MANNNNNNNYYY times.....lol
