Team Line Combinations - Daily Faceoff

On the Daily Faceoff we have been using that line up for the last two games and we are 0-2 getting outplayed badly.
i thought id just throw out a line up to see if anyone had an opinion and hope we can get something shaken up.

JVR Laughton Pitlick have looked pretty good on the forecheck.

I’d sit Thompson and go NAK Grant Rafl on the 4th.

I am very disappointed in their abilities to play a tougher game. i thought we brought them in and they were going to be crashing players in the corners and so on. Cmon guys give us some energy!

That's exactly it of course I'd like to see the odd goal from them but if anything they need to play tougher. That's been a disappointment but in reality they won't be around next season. Flyers will fill those holes with better players once guys like Lindblom come back.

Raffl has more offensive upside that's for sure. I'd also flip Jake and TK like I said before last game maybe get them rolling. Can't hurt as they aren't doing much as is.

I think that not only has Laughton done his best work with those guys on line 2 but Hayes and TK looked best with another guy willing to go into corners and dig pucks out. Laughton stopped doing that and that’s why his play dropped and he got benched. But he’s shown that jump since then. Id move him back.

Also, I think to get some semblance of the old Gee back you have to get him a favorable matchup like a 3rd line spot and get him back to center. JVR and NAK are two guys that have hands that can finish around him.

But if you look back at the goals 2 of the 3 came on the odd man rush situation. Because we can’t score, D-Men have to jump up and they got caught in transition.

So what you mean to say is they left the zone way too early and weren't position-ally responsible. When Myers turned the puck over literally JVR was standing on Isles blue line.

Laughton and NAK have been high energy players, their being wasted on lines with no finishers.

It all starts with the face off. I think we were 1st or 2nd during the regular season. Last game it was 55% Isles. Our guys have to want it more.

Pretty sure Raffl has been "unfit to play", not a healthy scratch. Tough to know for sure these days, but AV was coy about answering questions about Raffl's availability the past few days. In COVID times, that typically means it's something other than a coaches decision, or healthy scratch.

I don't care what they do with the lineup as long as the guys with the ability to score goals play a lot. None of this Thompson/Grant/Couturier/Hayes even split, 1-2-3-4-1-2-3-4 line rolling BS. It's do or die. Put your talented players on the ice. If they don't get it done, so be it. You've got a couple months to think about why it didn't work. But I think we can all agree Grant and Thompson won't be the ones carrying the team to victory. Ice time should reflect that.
