Was thinking this exact thought last night.

I think the Isles are exposing a few things with the Flyers, one of them is that the young dmen, Sanheim and Myers in particular, need to hit the gym. They're tall guys, but the Isles are dominating them in front of the net and on the boards.

You're right, but these kids are only 23 and 24 years old. The sky is the limit for them once they do put on a few pounds of muscle. There will eventually be a number of teams that would love to have them as their top pairing and yet we have Provy too. Both Sanheim and Myers have shown the skill and ability to get the job done in every zone of the ice. They are tall guys that can skate and don't lack speed either.

Furthermore, I think Sanheim and Myers are also learning how limited their time and space is at the highest level of Nhl play. They need to be able to just react quickly and instinctively instead of taking extra time to think about what play to make.

Either way, these two are absolute studs. Myers is due a new contract as a RFA and Sanheim has one year left on his bridge deal that will keep him a RFA. We definitely plan on keeping these two long term and since they are home grown talent, they should not break the bank.

The future is extremely bright for our top two defensive pairings and in net.

Despite all of the talk about unloading a high dollar player, our cap situation is fine moving forward. I think everyone agrees that Braun coming off the books will be a good thing and we have a slew of young forwards coming in to fill holes. Sign Myers and Hagg, find a backup goalie and we're good to go.

After next season, our buyouts come off the books, which gives us another $2.516 million to work with.

Quite frankly, Giroux only has two more seasons under contract with us, so everyone can shut the fuck up about him. 815 points in 889 regular season games, then 70 points in 82 playoff games for our franchise. This guy is a Flyer legend already, I don't care what anyone says.

As insurmountable as this deficit looks, we're not exactly dead yet either. Look at what Colorado has done tonight, up 5-0 after one period of game 5 after trailing 1-3 in the series.

Shake up the lines, plug in Raffl and Ghost and give her hell tomorrow night. If we come out strong and get a big lead, we could start to plant a seed of doubt in their minds and lower their confidence. We're still due some puck luck, for sure, and goals by Coots/Provy in the last game could help spark two of our best players.

We also have Hart returning and he is capable of stealing games if we are able to support him enough around his net.

So do the Fly guys pull a rabbit out of their hats like they did when Simone Gagne came back from an injury and insert Oskar into the line up. I would think if you added Oskar and got rid of JVR, Pitlik Thompson out of the line up it may make it a whole harder match up from the Isles. At this point it couldn't hurt but it's not likely to happen.

Oh ya, absolutely. Pumped we have both guys. I think this foray into the playoffs will help both of them a lot, and in turn the Flyers. Like you said, learning how much time they have and also adjusting to the physicality of the playoffs.

Please AV wake up and put Raffl back in the lineup. Its mind boggling why he is a healthy scratch these last two games.

TK its time to wake up and put the dam puck into the net!

I mean shouldn’t you actually win something of value before we toss around the word “legend”? And what does that have to do with his current abilities?

Yea the fact he keeps playing Thompson and Grant over these guys is a head scratcher. Those 2 guys haven't done shit the whole playoffs. Really makes you wonder WTF?

I am very disappointed in their abilities to play a tougher game. i thought we brought them in and they were going to be crashing players in the corners and so on. Cmon guys give us some energy!

Unfortunately they went to the JVR school of forechecking.
