Yeah every 50/50 puck bounces to them. Flyers can't hit the net though when they get their chances. Piles most go in. Provy can't allow two passes through him that was a killer. Young D this happens in first time playoffs so experience is critical.

A healthy Lindblom wouldn't hurt either we can't underestimate the loss of him. That's a lot of goals missing.

As much as I want to rant and bitch, I really can't. Looking at things realistically, we are just flat out being outplayed by the Isles in every facet of the game, also out coached. Their game planning is above and beyond anything we have a response to. To win you have to be able to win in all areas of the ice, the Isles are doing this, so did St.Louis last year. Hats off to them.:yo:

Stressful to watch. They are playing well and taking advantage of the chances they get.

We are not playing horrible but our top players are not getting the job done.

I don’t know if it’s just the matchup but at this point, there’s no question who is the better team. They’re 6-1 against us this year and that’s 7-0 if not for Varlomov having a rotten period in Game 2.

Thought that was the best they've played this series. Just could not get the puck to go. Greiss was just very solid. Unfortunately there's not a lot of room for tough luck losses at this stage in the series. Have to get the puck in the net.

Two goals against because Niskanen got caught out and Provorov lost his mind. That pair was flat out bad yesterday.

It's officially must-win time. Let's see what they have to say for their season tomorrow.

I thought Meyers has struggled the most on defense. Well besides Braun. There is plenty of blame to go around. I've seen some boneheaded plays on this team that has led to goals or off man rushes.

Agree on Myers. He’s made questionable decisions with the puck. I think you can say the same thing about Provy. It’s hard sometimes to forget how young this team is on the back line. We usually see the benefit of having these talented kids for a number of years going forward. But it’s easy to forget that with youth comes inexperience too. In the end, I’m ok if they lose as long as they learn and come back prepared next season having had a taste of playoff hockey. 2nd period was 17-3 in shots in favor of the Flyers. Yet the period finished 1-1 because of a giveaway. In playoff hockey, one bad giveaway can make the difference.

I have been wanting to ask this question to you guys in regard to our coaches. Do any of wonder how our roster would do/perform under a Trotz system? Imagine our guys and Hart as our stopper under his system. I love AV, but I often wonder if we have the the personnel that would fit better under Trotz than of AV? I think I brought Trotz up in the past with @awaz when he was available before going to the Islanders. It's a moot point now. Just wanted to hear your thoughts?

I think Trotz is a great coach but I don’t want to be caught up in this moment. This is year 1 of a new coach and a new GM. They’re going to have a ton of young assets where they can determine who fits their system best and I trust them to make good decisions. I think part of the problem has been a lack of continuity in coaches. We see this often in hockey where coaches can be successful for 2-3 seasons and then one bad season they get shit canned. I don’t want to make a change until we’ve given this group a chance. I’ve already said this but Gee has to go. They apparently aren’t willing to take the C from him. He doesn’t fit anymore and is an 8 million dollar cap hit. They should buy him out now. They need new on ice leadership. Gee isn’t that guy, in my humble opinion.

You make some very good and interesting points. I have mixed feelings about Gee. I love him as a Flyer, but I wonder if he would possibly be a trade chip for a player that could get us to the next level? His window is closing and I think he's on the decline at this point in his career. I also want to focus on a dman who can clean out our crease. The Islanders are showing no respect to our dmen. They are camping out in front of our crease and getting second scoring chances. Yes, I'm referring to Anders Lee.

I don’t think the Gee contract is tradeable. Covid has impacted finances in all sports. I remember reading years ago that Snider and the Flyers would officially break even with 3 or 4 home dates in the first round of the playoffs. I think the only way to get rid of Gee is in the off season contract buy out provision they’re talking about adding to the league because of Covid. It’s time. This was the year to change his legacy. Everything was in place for him and he’s come up small. Don’t get me wrong, Gee isn’t solely to blame for what looks like a 2nd round exit. They win and lose as a team and there are other guys missing plays that end up with the puck in your net. But it’s clear that leaning on Gee as top line guy and Captain isn’t going to win a Cup. And that’s the goal.

In the last 10 years weve had 5 different coaches with different systems and this has been our best year. Its not the system.

If Gee has a closing window and makes 8.3 million per year and is on the decline why would some team trade us a player to put us over the top for Gee?

what is it or who? I know how you feel about JvR, but it's not just him. Who would you trade or want to bring in if available? Would you trade Gee to bring in a bigger trade?

I was just throwing things out there. Gee still has value, how much I'm not sure.

Oskar Lindblom Nolan Patrick and Morgan Frost. The pieces are already in the system. The next step is to see who can skate in this system and raise the level of play. The young kids who are talented but don’t fit become your trade pieces. But now they have to continue to assess what they have.

JVR is gone as soon as Lindblom comes back next year so im not worried about him.

Im not giving any changes as we arent out yet so lets win three in a row and all is good!
