You’re hunch is correct based on what? Trump’s arbitrary statement with no factual/medical backing? Come on man. All medical professionals are still saying this is going to get worse before it gets better. It’s ok to be wrong.
It's okay Chicken Little, I see the media has your attention . You keep on clucking along, lol.

People probably forget how close we were to winning the Cup in 2000. We lost 1-2 in game 7 of the conference finals (after leading 3 games to 1) to the Devils, who went on to win it 4-2 over Dallas.

Fucking Marty Brodeur...

Ah, I see. Grizzled vet doesn't care for science and facts so results to name calling. Nice...

Uh, bingo. This is exactly what these two have always done historically. How far could we go back!? It's silly Lol

What facts? A week ago we were headed for death and mayhem, now were ahead of all the other countries and are talking about re opening some bigger parts of the country in 20 days, those are the facts. Remember when AIDS was gonna kill half the population? Are we there yet? If your insulted by Chicken little then I feel for ya.

Did you miss the post stating the confirmed cases in the U.S. each week? We went from 6,000 cases last Tuesday to 53,000 this past Tuesday. What part of this indicates we slowing down and have it under control?

Ok first I never stated we have it under control, all I ever said is I have a hunch things will run a course faster than everyone first predicted, I still ride with that. It's been this way every time we've had a new strain of something. Sars IMO was worse than this and the media no where near freaked like this. I've seen this movie a few times and know the ending. Whether or not the sports world is anxious to get back at is another debate. I guess we'll see in 19 days.

Man that dude is a joke, I don't even respond to any more of his copy and paste box score analogies and he still hovers around waiting to inject some kind of negative word about us wherever he can. Oh well everyone needs a hobby.

I personally believe what the government(s) have done is bat-shit crazy. I swear, growing up in the 60's & 70's, when there were particularly more deaths in a flu season everyone would say "man - that was a tough flu season", and move on. No one knew the better if someone ate a bat or a rat or drank cat piss that triggered a coronavirus outbreak..... it was just 'nature'.... Potentially destroying the world economy for the sake of 'the vulnerable" (which arguably I'm old enough to be in that category), just doesn't make sense to me.

Sure, be reasonable... but shutting down the world :wtf2:

Exactly! This is why I believe it won't be a super long shut down. As far as what sports will do I guess we'll have to wait and see.

something to chew on the flu killed 35 thousand Americans last year on average 600 K in the world. No one bats and eye or puts a ticker on the screen which creates hysteria. This does spread quickly I'll give it that but if you protect the elderly and vulnerable the death rates would drop dramatically and they are still no where near the yearly flu numbers. This generation tends to micromanage everything and loves the TV and online drama....

Yep agree 100%, no one says shit about the yearly death toll of the flu alone. This is just another version of it, and lo and behold it's killing the same people as influenza, imagine a strain of flu doing that? Anyways my life hasn't changed, I just want some hockey!

I may end up eating my words... and I'm man enough to do so.... but of the 61,000 cases of C-19, half are in New York, and

Ok... here's something else to chew on. How many of the people who have died from C-19 would have died from the 'regular' flu anyway.

Here's data from CDC from February 11, 2020 !

So how do these numbers compare to flu deaths in previous years? So far, it looks like the 2019-2020 death toll won’t be as high as it was in the 2017-2018 season, when 61,000 deaths were linked to the virus. However, it could equal or surpass the 2018-2019 season's 34,200 flu-related deaths.

Overall, the CDC estimates that 12,000 and 61,000 deaths annually since 2010 can be blamed on the flu. Globally, the World Health Organization (WHO) estimates that the flu kills 290,000 to 650,000 people per year.

I'm not a statistic freak... but estimates say the average per year has a 5 X variability from year to year... AGAIN, WTF are we doing here ?!?!?!?!
