And when they're not, they're really not haha. That Isles game was definitely a clunker. Unfortunately Hart might've set them up for failure in that one. I hope AV goes right back to him tomorrow though. Give him an opportunity to bounce back.

Not going to get too worked up over losing on a back to back / 3rd in 4 situation when the Isles had the previous night off (though it was 3rd in 4 for them also).

Isles rolling. Barry Trotz is a wizard behind the bench.
Agreed 3 in 4 is a killer to the visitors especially. Hart was definitely not on that was the game. But let's trade them all anyway!!! Even the maskot!

:L What a clown bragging about a 5-4 team who is in 6th place. i am convinced you dont watch the games at all.
My point was for ten minutes when they played they are world beaters. Now if they could consistently play like that they would be contenders. But I know Las you would trade them all as this is impossible they show no hope...

They have played "60 minute" games this year. As I mentioned in my previous post, the Columbus game they dominated play. They also dominated the Hawks (67% of scoring chances) and Devils (73% of the scoring chances) to start the season. One of their most dominant game was actually the Oilers game (67% of the scoring chances, 69% of the attempted shots), but they got extremely unlucky.

I would say in at least those 4 games they "played 60 minutes". Adding in games where they got in front and stayed there, they also dominated the Golden Knights game and the 2nd Hawks game.

So IMO, they've played 60 minutes in 6 of the 10 games so far. Not perfect, obviously, but to insinuate they haven't played a full 60 minutes this season is just being dramatic.
Trade them all Awaz there is no hope...

Obviously kidding here teams never are as good or bad as you think. Usually somewhere in the middle. I'm going to be positive as I don't see the ten game losses happening this season. Avoid that and they have a shot to improve. Hart is too talented to struggle for long he'll get it going. Keep working!

If we were going to send him down at the risk he gets claimed why wouldn't we trade him and not lose him for nothing?

Oh ya, absolutely see if you can trade him first. I'm just skeptical on if anyone would give up an asset for him with him seemingly on the cusp of waivers.

The advanced stats say that he's been bad. Really bad. :gaah:

Seriously though, it can't be blamed on the team in front of him. Elliot is beating him badly in just about every meaningful statistical category, including the fact that Elliot faces a significantly higher percentage of high danger chances (Elliot 30.9% to 18.7% for Hart).

So, what's really up with Hart? I don't think any of us know. He started the pre-season absolutely on fire, then had the clunker in Prague. He rebounded with a couple of good starts and then has subsequently fallen off of a cliff. I watched him closely on Sunday, and he was pretty much bad in all aspects - his positioning/angles was off, he had poor rebound control and seemed to be having trouble tracking the puck. All of that tells me he probably isn't simply fighting a minor injury (unless it's an eye injury - hopefully that's just a joke) that he's trying to play through. He seems to be struggling mentally for whatever reason. He was pretty bad last year in the early going for the Phantoms as well, for what that's worth. I don't see teams trying to take advantage of any one particular flaw in his game, so I don't think that teams have just "figured him out".

Yep, I agree with this. I was thinking during the Isles game that the biggest thing you notice when Hart is on his game, you see so little motion from him. Shot comes, he goes in to the butterfly, shot hits him in the logo, cover, faceoff. The Isles game he was scrambling on the first few goals, then seemed to get rattled and started trying to rely on athleticism to stop the puck, which isn't his game. He can do it (see Devils save), but what makes him such a highly touted prospect is that he never has to, because he reads the play and positions himself so well.

Hopefully it's just a couple games off, or maybe he's a slow starter (not that we need another one of those...). Fortunately, Elliot has played really well to keep them afloat.

Yeah, good point in terms of how he normally plays. He might just be struggling with the fact that he came into the season expected to be "the man", and a couple of bad starts have him rattled and now he's pressing. We saw something similar with Myers, someone who everyone including the coaches/GM expected to come in and win the 3RD job but other than one pre-season game clearly looked out of synch, probably due to putting too much pressure on himself to live up to the expectations.

We can all agree that Hart will be the key to a successful season as we all know Elliott with his health issues wont be able to carry us all season long. Hope Hart snaps out of his malaise and the sooner the better.

Gotta go back to Hart tonight. Can't let him build up low confidence, work your way out of it kid even if we have to beat a team 5-4 to do it.

Oh I disagree here if you plan on pulling him after 1 goal you better not put him in as starter haha
It's a tough decision, if he let's in a softee it could go either way. Hate to see him have another stinker and lose more confidence.
