We took the two players that we like most at #14 and #19 regardless of position, so I like it.

I agree that the Islanders got so fucking lucky picking #11 and #12. Dobson and Wahlstrom both fell into their lap. The decent shot I thought we had at drafting one of them quickly went down the drain.

I do love the USA hockey connections here. A lot of them selected in round one, including both Farabee and O'Brien.

I am a bit surprised that Hextall didn't draft Ty Smith at 14.. That being said, everything from the Flyers sites was all speculation. Hextall once again showed us nothing going into the draft. I thought maybe a trade somewhere? This was Hextall's very first draft selecting a pure winger in the first round.

Isles draft everyone I like. Dobson, Wahlstrom, Pulock, Barzal, Bellows. It’s crazy.

I like the Farabee pick and reading more about OBrien I like him too. Both high skill, high speed, high compete guys. Those are the traits I look for so I can’t be upset one bit.

Yep. I was shocked. Thought with Veleno and Smith on the board it would be one of them for sure.

Veleno dropping like an anchor.

I'm still scratching my head over this O Brien pick at 19. I read he was projected to go mid 2nd round per Mackenzie I believe. I'm just thinking of all the talent Hextall passed over or why he didn't trade this pick and move back to get another pick?

Apparently he would have went if they traded back. Seems like the NHL is picking more on upside than where they are at now. Hence veleno sliding. I'm OK with what they did we'll see what FA brings...

Las probably not going to be pumped. Not a lot of size in those picks.

Maybe they’ll get some today.

Well, we have Myers, Morin and Ratcliffe on the way with regard to size. It doesn't mean as much as it used to in the Nhl anyway, as you know.

@lasgop is probably having a full blown meltdown and probably arrested for fighting a Rangers fan last night, lol.

Maybe they’ll get some today.

I think the general consensus is that we know what we're getting with Farabee and O'Brien is a swing for the fences type of move. Really tough to grade a kid that is coming out of high school where he was far and away the best player.

What can you say? Hexy is trusting Chris Pryor and the rest of our scouts. It's easy to do that when we have Farabee in the bank. We also already have guys like Patrick, Provorov, Ghost and Konecny firmly entrenched on the big squad and Frost, Strome, Hart, Myers, Ratcliffe, Sushko etc. on the way.

Go big or go home.

Adam Ginning at 50. LHD our of the SHL. 6-4, 205. Shut down D type guy.

There’s your size. Plays on the same team as Lycksell so the flyers have certainly seen a lot of him.

Good pick and I'm happy that they went D after two forwards on day one. Need to keep a bit of everything coming down the pipeline. I like what I'm seeing.

Think that the isles did pretty good as well seemed to be at the right place right time for every pick...

From reading some info on this guy, he reminds me a bit of Kjell Samuellson. Not sure awaz if you remember him from back in the day? Big guy, covered a ton of ice with his size, etc. I like this pick.
