The contract's going to look bad in the latter years when he's 36 making $45 mil. But Houston had to sign him to this deal since they're in win-now mode.

It's a big risk, but I agree that they had to take it. I don't think they're winning a title in the next 2 years anyway, especially now that Ariza is gone. But they have zero chance without CP3.

Lebron ain’t coming if Cousins is just coming, the Kawhi deal will be all but over pretty much if Lebron knows he is going go LA. The thing about signing Cousins to about 24M is it gives them more cap space especially if they get rid of Deng. It means they can resign Randle depending on what he wants or get other players maybe even an AS type of player. It also depends on how much they would give and take back in the Kawhi deal

To be fair...PG did cost himself a lot of money with the way he did things. But I agree, it comes off like Windy is upset that he was wrong. His reaction was a bit over top.

Heck, I'm a Lakers fan and I'm not nearly as bothered by it as Windy seems to be.
Cowherd is crying on twitter too. Won’t admit he was wrong the last 2 yrs.

They have to substitute Ariza somehow with a player at a price of a MLE. Going to be very difficult. Ariza obviously wanted more money and with a couple more good moves the Suns are a very young team that could slip in the playoffs possibly. Just surprised Ariza didn’t want to try at least one more year with Houston

This thread has been funny to me. Mainly all the bitter Laker fans. This was RW 2.0. What is LA going to do with those 40 billboards?

What bitter Lakers fans? Haven't seen a single bitter post.

Now, if you want to see bitter, how about we link Thunder fan posts for the past 2 years?

Agreed. Ariza is actually a pretty big blow. Looking at the Golden State series, they made them uncomfortable with the defensive rotations they were able to throw at GS. Ariza was a staple for that and now he's gone. For Houston, you're not going to get a better SF than Ariza that's available - because Lebron doesn't look like he's heading to Houston.

It looks like the Warriors are almost guaranteed their 5th trip back to the Finals:

Rockets: Lost Ariza. Re-signed CP3. But got weaker, not better or stayed fully intact.

Spurs: Kawhi's likely traded.

Thunder: Probably the biggest question mark moving forward and may possibly be the biggest threat to the Dubs out West.

Lakers: Depends on what they look like if Lebron goes and if Kawhi ends up getting traded.

But none of those teams I see taking down Golden State next year.

Cowherd isn't wrong about Westbrook being difficult to play with. But if PG feels like he can and he's happy in OKC, it's the right move.

And to be fair, there were times when they seemed to play together pretty well. The question has always been whether or not Westbrook can stop himself from playing hero ball when things get tough. If he can learn to remember he has help, they can do pretty well. I don't think they're beating the Warriors...but then, who is? lol

I actually don't think it's a good idea for the Warriors to get Dwight. That guy has wrecked every single locker room he's been apart of. And yes, that's taking into account the leadership they have on that roster.

I agree.

It seems like a good signing at first glance but take it from somebody whose team he caused chaos with.

I'm a little surprised by that too.

Having said that though, he already has a ring and has been in the league 13 years. Maybe you're right about him wanting the money.

Houston is still going to be very good and they can still bolster their bench. They were up 3-2 when CP3 remember. Ariza is a huge piece but you can’t just count them out. They are still a beast to be reckoned with.

I don’t other teams close to them in the west right now.

If LA were to get say Kawhi, Lebron and Cousins, resign Randle or get some more pieces that is another contender. It would all depend on the roster though. If Kawhi doesn’t go to LA why would Lebron go there when he can just wait a year

Houston was a 1 game Chris Paul away from beating them.

Agree with all of this.

The Thunder are interesting. If Westbrook can learn to use his help, they could be a real threat to the Warriors.
