It is the only way to get RFA. Overpay for them and even if the team matches then they look like fools for matching a terrible contract
Why Kings Why?

He's not a bad player. Just not a $20m a year type of player

I'm all for spending money in FA if it's used on players the team needs. Zach Lavine is not that....but those highlight dunks! Vlade probably saw him posterize a Kings player last season and said "that's what wins games" as the Bulls blew a 20 point lead.Vlady once again showing that he's a drunken sailor with a wad full of cash dying to get rid of it.

I could see them matching because they have cap space and he was a big piece to the Butler trade. If they pass on him they could go after Jabari Parker instead even though he's more of a 4 which is where Lauri plays.Let's just hope the bulls match.
Well for your sake
Sorry, Bolts.Injury prone
Plays either guard spot which are currently filled by the 3 best players on the team
Shot horribly from the field last year
No defense
If it was a $12mil per year move it'd make more sense but definitely not this much. I hope this means Bogdan will be the SF, I'd rather not trade him or Buddy.
Not even by today's overpaid standards. He's not a bad player. Just not a $20m a year type of player
He averaged 19ppg on 45% from the field and 39% from 3 the season when he suffered the ACL injury, so obviously they think he is recovered enough from that to be a possible 20ppg guy on this roster with efficient shooting and last seasons numbers were because he was still recovering from the injury. It doesn't really make sense unless they believe Bogi can be a solid SF which is the biggest hole on the roster, I'd hate to see him or Buddy get traded because of this(they've gotten close as teammates and that would hurt the chemistry). Also not drafting Luka because they want the ball in Fox's hands while also signing Lavine who needs the ball is just stupid. If the Bulls pass I'll try to eventually look at any positives he can bring to the team, but right now I'm just frustrated at this offseason in general. Kangz strike again!Sorry, Bolts.
This move makes no sense.
The only thing I can think of is they think he has a bit of star power because of his athleticism.
I was super High on the guy coming out of college...UCLA homerism and all.
But, he is an entitled ball hog and not at all what the Kings needed.
Rockets gotta find that player that replaces Ariza by bringing equal or better value - on BOTH ends of the court. And if they somehow lose Capela they are knocked back down to tier 2 IMO.Twolves are one bad bottle of tequila away from a straight up dumpster fire.
Warriors and Rockets are a class of their own. Jazz could create some real trouble for both of them next year especially if Mitchell continues to develop.
Blazers are an enigma. So are the Nuggest.
Pelicans could surprise especially if they can figure out a way to get Randle to fit into their team.
Parker is injury prone...I could see them matching because they have cap space and he was a big piece to the Butler trade. If they pass on him they could go after Jabari Parker instead even though he's more of a 4 which is where Lauri plays.

Wait what? Minny didn't have the 3rd best record in the WC last season. They barely beat Denver for the 8th seed in the last game of the reg season.T-Wolves I'm assuming right the ship. Obviously that might not happen, but with Butler playing they did have the 3rd best record in the WC. Honestly, it's probably going to be a lot like last year, meaning not much separation between teams 3-9.
Possibly...the WC is much more competitive AND he'll have to play those teams more times in the reg season than the EC teams. To say the least he won't be able to skate through the reg season like seasons past in the EC.Lol, without significant injuries to their players the Lakers would have won at least 40-42 games last season. And you think adding the best player in the game and significantly improving in other positions only gives them 5 more wins?
The way they front loaded the contract, they are hoping the Bulls don't match. He averaged 19ppg on 45% from the field and 39% from 3 the season when he suffered the ACL injury, so obviously they think he is recovered enough from that to be a possible 20ppg guy on this roster with efficient shooting and last seasons numbers were because he was still recovering from the injury.
