Nope which is why I won't be surprised if the Lakers are as high as the 3rd seed or as low as the 7 seed at the end of the season

I can see anywhere from 3-8 for the Lakers and this is assuming Kawhi is finished in San Antonio. Otherwise 3-9 wouldn't surprise me in the least. I really like Denver's roster and they finished 9th last season. I'm assuming they'll be better as well.

T-Wolves I'm assuming right the ship. Obviously that might not happen, but with Butler playing they did have the 3rd best record in the WC. Honestly, it's probably going to be a lot like last year, meaning not much separation between teams 3-9.

It sounds like Butler is not happy there. Unless Wiggins pulls his head out of his ass, I don't see them better than a 7 or 8 seed.

Melo wasn't one of their top 3 players last year. He wasn't even one of their top 5 players last year. In fact he was net negative player for them.

The Lakers will be better but they are going to need a LOT of adjustment time before they even find a system that will work. IMO, their ceiling is about 50 games but 45 is more likely. Unless they get Kawhi.

The Trail Blazers were a 48 win team despite going through their own growing pains last year. I would say they are the 4th best team in the West.

Lol, without significant injuries to their players the Lakers would have won at least 40-42 games last season. And you think adding the best player in the game and significantly improving in other positions only gives them 5 more wins?

Marcus Smart disgusted by lack of communication from the Celtics.

The entire Lakers team is about to be completely jumbled. I think it is VERY possible that the Lakers will have a losing record at the half-point of the season.

Who are the starting 5 for the Lakers right now?

I'd agree. If he gets moved they are probably the odd team out next year. GSW, HOU, UTA, OKC, LAL, SAS, DEN, NOP, probably are the playoff teams.

Every season is different.

They also have to get used to a new roster.

There are 5 new guys who will be a part of the nightly rotation.

Also injuries is still a thing. Injuries will happen. Guys will miss significant time.

It happens

As it stands?

LeBron
Ingram
KCP
Lonzo/Rondo

Javale probably starts at the 5 unless they go very small and include Kuzma in there which is probably unlikely to start the game.

So on papers the Lakers are still only a 45-47 win team?

So with at least 2 positions, no one even knows who the starter is.

I'd say 47-52. I think it's unrealistic to think Lebron will play like he did in the playoffs. Cavs only won 50 last year, with a roster that's probably slightly better than what the Lakers will have next year.

All depends on what Magic and Rob do over the next few weeks. Nobody thinks this is going to be the final roster.

They're still looking for a starting crnter. Rumors are they're aiming for Capella or resigning Lopez.

Then there's still the Kawhi/Lillard rumors floating about.

So we'll see. But right now AS IS, this is a 50+ win team

Lol, that last bit isn't even close to being true

And, more importantly, a roster that had guys that understood their role in a Lebron offense.

Maybe super human Lebron carries the team to 50 wins on his back like he did with the Cavs, where lead the league in minutes played, but I doubt that is what Luke Walton, Magic Johnson, or Lebron James are envisioning.

For me I'll say 46-50 wns.

And you make a great point about this current roster being slightly better than the Cavs team. Plus we also must consider that he is now playing in the west where he is playing these team 3 or 4X during the season

I'm not sure you're the best judge of talent considering you think Melo was OKC's 3rd best player last season.
