I like Magic's approach. The reason I disagree with you here is because he will be FREE next year to sign out right - without having to give up assets. Couple that with his unknown health. Think about this: he's been out basically a year with a thigh injury. Should that really have taken this long to heal? My guess is there's something else going on. Also, he was the one player people thought was the most mild mannered and would NEVER demand a trade. After this circus how do you know he won't do the same thing in LA - especially if what we heard about him not wanting to play on a superteam is true?
the thigh injury is concerning from what i read.

it seems like its not something that just heals and goes away like a broken bone. you break your leg- it heals- and sometimes even heals stronger- whoop d- doo-

with kawhi's injury it seems like something that is chronic and may continue to pop up and have to be managed during his career.

I still think the Celtics were the better all around team last year. Not being a homer or anything but I think if Kyrie & Hayward were healthy Boston would have won the series.
possibly, but if you are relying on kyrie irving being healthy you might not always get what you want.

Hayward just had another surgery too didnt he? An injury like he got is not exactly something that heals up and you get back to 100% and never htink about again either.

I think both are still great players and should be great going forward but i wouldnt 100% trust either one health wise.

maybe thats why they want to hold onto Jaylen Brown so much- maybe they see him and Tatum and Rozier as the long term core mroe so than Kyrie and Hayward.....

This is the problem. They've already been in talks with Capela but the two sides can't agree on a #. Should be interesting. I will laugh if they lose him.
there really is no incentive for either side to get what they want.

no team that is any good has the cap room to sign Capela and Capela wants more than waht Houston is offering. Its kind of a TT/Cavs situation in a way.

Most fans of EC teams have this opinion...because it would mean less # of teams that are located in the East make the post season.

Then, logically, you would have to change the schedule such that each team plays all the other teams the same number of times. That's the only way to ensure proper seeding of all teams.

Given travel considerations, that's just not going to happen.
But, good luck getting any of the Eastern Conference owners to agree to this....

overy homerstic?

they won a title and got to 4 straight Finals......if all goes as is expected he wont even make it out of the 2nd round this year. Will it make me happy watching the 2nd round of the NBA playoffs and not seeing the purple and gold in all likelihood?

All that changes if they are able to swing a deal for Leonard.

It was a 7 game series & the Celtics were missing 2 key players. I don't know why you carried on & want to change the topic. I'm only talking about what I think would have happened in EFC, not long term.

And you know how I feel about Kyrie. Not a fan of his. Because of his past history it wouldn't bother me if they trade him or if next year will be his last in Boston. Damn good player, but an injury waiting to happen.

Just a few seasons ago......IT had the world by the balls.....

Klowhee has TT's balls. And she better give 'em back for next season. He's gonna need them. Mr. KardASSian has the opportunity to prove he's the franchise player nobody thinks he is.

Yea, I've heard the same thing. But how come he's the only one with a thigh injury that won't heal? There have been plenty of other guys with a very similar injury & have made it back. This is interesting to me & can't wait til someone gets to the bottom of it. Until they do I agree that teams should be hesitant to give up good assets to get him.

Clippers, sign your Rookies and move on.

He is 100% correct. He'd be a complete afterthought. But, it's sad that nobody wants to compete anymore.

It's not just Boogie, Durant, LeBron....

Adrian Wojnarowski: “I’ve been told that one of the reasons [Kawhi Leonard] looks at going to the Clippers – is a little less motivated [to go to the Clippers] is because initially, the idea of Los Angeles was fine to him – he preferred the Lakers but was all right with the Clippers – but now that LeBron James is there, the idea of going head-to-head with LeBron – to have Kawhi with the Clippers and LeBron with the Lakers, and to maybe feel dwarfed by that – I’m told that’s become far less appealing for him.”

And I think Capela needs to lower his standards just a tad. Listen, he's not even considered the best big man in the game, yet he wants to be paid like he is. He doesn't have any offensive moves to couple with his defensive presence + he actually WANTS to stay in Hou. IMO he should stop being greedy & take the offer - earn more money over the next couple of years.

90+ degree weather most of the year.

I have a hard time doing this for 2-3 months every summer
Oh no it's not that hot in the Bay all year.

SF & the surrounding cities are usually around 65 degrees year round. Very rarely does it get hot in SF in the summer. 80 tops.

Even in the valley it's only triple digits in the summer months. But in winter the valley gets the coldest. Usually as low as 30's & highs of 65 max.

My type of weather. 65-85 degrees is the perfect weather for me

I'm surprised the Kings haven't overpaid Lavine on an offer sheet yet, but it sounds like they want to.
