If he wouldn’t of been the 5th RB in rotation I would’ve agreed with you. When’s the last time a team lost its top 4 RB’s and needed a replacement? But can you tell me the last time a team needed to use it’s 3rd string QB? I guarantee it’s happened a lot more than needing your 5th string RB. Sure I wish our 3rd string QB was better than Lynch but there’s very few people out there Denver could get, especially without having to give up draft picks to get him.

You have no clue as to how good Lynch is.

He needs playing time if this new league starts up this spring. keeping lynch was brilliant.

He needs playing time. Fact. Stop acting like he did not play as good as KC's QB last year I did watch that game there was little difference in their play.

Drew Breese took 5 years to get it. most QB's take 4 to 5 year to Develop some longer our starter has been in the league what 6 or 7 years?

I hope Trevor Siemian wins the SB this year it would really make me Giggle at all you yahoos that think wham ...instant success

In fairness it did happen to us Shanahan’s last year we ended up bringing Tatum Bell back as we went through 6 RB’s that year.

Iowa once had their top 5 RB’s hurt in a season and had to use walk on Sam Brownlee to finish out the season. That was a fun year.

Drew Brees turned into a star after he left San Diego for New Orleans but he was light years better than Paxton his first 4 years in the NFL.

Siemian could win a SB with the Vikings as their 3rd string QB.

Are you playing video games and confusing it with the NFL again? These two QB’s are trash in terms of NFL starting QB’s move on from it. It’s old news.

Why we spend time talking about Paxton and Siemian around here in the context that you do is a complete waste of time.

Why we spend time talking about a roster bubble 3rd string QB who has regressed every year just baffles me.

I see @Duffman 's point that it's an unusually rare occurrence, though. But it does really irk me because I honestly don't think Lynch is going to get better.

For the last 4 years, our OL sucked so badly I still cannot imagine how we won an SB with that crap of a OL . Itboggle's my mind that we won SB50 .

Manning with a Real OL that would be neat to have seen well 2014 I guess .

This year OL looks to be very good I think this means we have every right as fans to Expect to win the West. After that, it will be on the Coaches

Nope breeze looked good his last year then Bill Romanowski turned his shoulder into hamburger and they made the decision to go with Rivers because they really had no choice. Brees was winning the preseason against Rivers by the way did that make him crap as you guys call Lynch?

I get it fans want instant. At QB that rarely the case and even then that means a damn good team is around them. If you look at stats of those QB's that win early they show normal QB learning curve all the same.

Lynch to me is a Normal kid of his age. I think he better get with it or get gone that I will agree with.

Kelly I get it he looks the part I will root for him also but he has had a Clue since he was child what it takes to be an NFL QB He grew up on the sidelines watching his uncle

I am hoping This new league builds up our OL/Guards and QB's

To me Paxton is like Ryan Leaf, or Jeff George. They are physically gifted but couldn't handle the mental aspects of being an NFL QB. If you look at the The best QBs in NFL history very few are the most physically gifted. Brady, Manning, and Montana did not have off the off the charts physical abilities, but the were miles ahead of most other QBs mentally.

I personally I think Lynch has gotten better when it is kept simple enough. But I think he overthinks things when he is put in a normal NFL system. This leads me to believe that the NFL game is too complicated for him mentally, and thus I would like to see us move on from him.

Elway has been pretty good at judging physical talent but at the QB position it is as much if not more about the ability to quickly read and react.

Just my opinion.

Hey. Here's a fun game: Name (only) one of these guys you'd rather have on the roster than Lynch. I'll go with RB Henderson although there are six or seven other guys I could pick.

Jeff Holland is a guy that I think we are risking trying to get him to the practice squad. From what I have seen he could be very valuable as a pass rush specialist, and could fill that role next year after Barrett and Ray potentially leave via free agency. In my opinion he has way more future potential.

I haven’t seen the physically gifted part of Paxton in the NFL to say he has that aspect. I saw the arm in college havent’t seen anything in the NFL.

But 100% agree on mental part.

Paxton looks like a 6th grader on a varsity field out there. He’s so lost. People can make all the excuses in the book but he has failed miserably. The starting QB spot was handed to him on a silver platter the last two years (previously) and he droped the plate the second it was given.

Nevermind the fact that he couldn’t even win the backup QB job this year. Chad Kelly has the same OL he does and he way outplayed him.

Lynch is the only First round qb not named Rodgers or River to never be named starter by his 2nd season

I trusted Elway with Paxton initially as I recall, but enough is enough. For anyone to say we have no clue how talented he is completely ignores his entire body of work. Trevor Siemien beat him out for goodness sakes, and so has the last pick in the 2017 NFL draft.

You can throw out whatever stats you want to suit your worldview, but the fact is that the QB's you are comparing him to performed well against scrubs, then backups, and then starters. Pax has never progressed beyond performing well against scrubs, and that's telling.

Elway is hanging on now more than anything for pride, IMO.

I don't know that you an put a QB out there that looks as lost as Paxton did. Tebow didn't start, but once he did there was success. Paxton was given the opportunity to start and didn't take advantage of the opportunity. Most teams didn't feel Paxton should be a 1st round pick so just because we reached on the kid doesn't mean he should be mentioned in the same breath as some of the other 1st round QBs.

Would you feel better if we started Paxton like Johnny Manzel and let him flame out? I think the Broncos are trying to give him a chance to develop so he is successful when he takes the field. Then we likely would be coming of back to back years with top 10 picks.

Well he’s cut anyways so it doesn’t matter anymore.

Lynch needs playcards with Winnie the Pooh on it just like Memphis. This is the level of mental accurity we can dealing with.

One of the biggest problems with Lynch is his " read to delivery ". His " football IQ " can improve drastically but it won't matter because by the time he delivers the ball, the window is already closed. He will never be able to hit tight Windows needed to be a good NFL Qb. Not his fault he's 6'7 with a long release. Those features usually spell.......well, grocery clerk I'm afraid.
