Tatum is what? up for restricted free agency the summer after this summer? He will be there for AT LEAST 4-5 years I would think. Its very rare for a guy to turn down a max coming off a rookie deal- and Tatum is without a doubt the best young player they could deal for.

The only thing that might be more valuable than tatum in a deal is a top 2 pick i nthe draft and the chance to get one of the 2 (maybe 3) great Duke players.

My point was that it depends on how the Pelicans view Tatum. HE is way better than any of the Lakers prospects. But do they view him as a cornerstone player?

If the Pels don't think he is a future star, they might prefer the Laker package because it would better allow them to bottom out while still collecting some quality cost controlled assets.

Lastly, will the Celtics offer Tatum if Davis says he won't resign? Ainge might still do it, but that is a really tough call.
