the Knicks just gave up their best home grown player since Patrick Ewing for cap space and the point guard they should have taken i nthe draft in the first place (DSJ) instead of Ntilikina.

I mean- if the Knicks can convince Durant to come in, and send their lotto pick, Knox and DSJ to the Pels for Davis- then hey- more power to them

But if they trade them, and they take on salary, they sacrifice cap space. It seems their goal is entirely evident that they want to clear as much cap space as possible to make a run at free agents. Trading Jordan or Matthews seems counter productive if they're not also receiving the same amount of expirings back, no?

They got the Mavs 1st rounder? I didn't know that. It still all depends on the off-season. Big time FA's and depending on what slot they get in the draft. This could be a HUGE win for the Knicks...the only way I see it being horrible is if they strikeout on the bigtime FA's and don't get Zion...something all those lines

With the Knicks its just stupidity thoguh- those contracts they moved were stupid when they signed them

they oculd have had DSJ instead of Ntilikina in the first place.

All this trade does is fix/undue stupidity that they caused themselves in the past.
