As I said earlier it feels dirty all around
I can't understand anyone who is taking this flurry of recent reports... (which all certainly seem calculated to manipulate this AD scenario in favor of the Lakers)... without a truckload of salt.

Rich PAul owes Davis 50k.

I think that's the equivalent of buying a $20 lottery ticket for us.

That was a rookie mistake IMO. Could have done the same exact thing privately the fine doesn't happen.

We would have got the news yesterday the same exact way but yeah 50K is nothing for them

Irving really would be interested in reuniting with James?

Wow.

So how many years would Lebron be without a title now if not for Irving?

We are entering a dangerous phase for balance within the league if it just takes a player to leak this stuff and thus hurt his own trade value making him easier to deal.

Sucks for smaller market teams.

Well you have to start somewhere. Part of the Pelicans problem in the past with respects to AD are twofold:

1) Mismanagement of their cap space and inability to sign free agents.
2) Trading away all draft picks.

They'd essentially be doing a 180 in this respect and trying to foundation-ally build the "correct" way.

But the biggest thing is that the cap space will allow the Pelicans to absorb contracts for more picks as well. Their rebuild is going to be at least a 2-3 year turn around. Having max cap space also allows them to drive up market prices on other free agents and impact the market that way too.

The Pelicans completely screwed themselves when they traded for Tyreke Evans. Then they did it again when they let the one role player guard who best fit Davis (Gordon) to walk. Evans was always a terrible fit. A ball dominant guard who couldn't shoot at the time.

Holiday's injuries didn't help either.

So if you're AD would you prefer LeBron/LA and the spare parts plus another Max or playing in Boston with Kyrie and whoever is left and....Gordon

LeBron easily.

Let's not forget Kyrie has injury risk too. And Gordon has not been all that impressive.

Hell, Kyrie just might be that 3rd player in LA if they somehow get the deal for AD.

No, he didn't.

He said If the Warriors offer less than the Max and the Lakers get Davis his attention would be on the Lakers.

Nice try though...

“The best-case scenario for LA is that they add Anthony Davis and then Golden State doesn’t offer Klay Thompson a max contract. They try to get Klay to take a little bit less than the max. And if that happens, I’m told Klay’s attention will be on LA if they have Anthony Davis.”

That one little sentence changes that quote considerably....lol

It's like he doesn't realize some of us watch Sports Center, The Jump or subscribe to Woj's timeline....lol

He should know better. He can get away with thay when speaking to casual nba fans....not die hard fans which is basically the entire board

Disappointing.

But, not surprising....

And in recent days, LeBron's agent, Rich Paul, has made it clear that his client will be going at his own pace. "We don't give a shit what nobody thinks or says," Paul said in a recent interview. "We're going to do what's best for him ... We're not on nobody else's timeline."

Trading away Hield didn’t help either, you can’t go giving away guys that can straight up shoot it like he can

I know y'all do t want us to rise again...

...but we're gonna... :D
Likely not this Season.

Starting to look like @tlance is correct about the Pelicans not dealing him by the deadline.

Even if they do it this Summer, it probably won't be to the Lakers.

Mofos HATE y'all.....lol

So, maybe in 2020?

Chris Haynes first addressed whether he thinks the Lakers might be able to deal for Davis before the NBA trade deadline: “I don’t see that right now. I mean, if you look at (the Pelicans’) statement, they’re still on the league about looking into tampering charges and so there’s bad blood. I was talking with somebody earlier and they brought up Gregg Popovich, how he was not going to trade Kawhi to the Lakers, and I said ‘this is different. It’s a little bit deeper even than that.’

Chris Haynes: “So from that mindset right now I do not see a way (that in the next 10 days) the Pelicans do a deal that will send AD over to the Lakers. I just don’t see that happening. And I don’t know if the league is going to let that happen right now.
