FYI,

Scottie Pippen's senior year at Central Arkansas, he averaged 23.6 points, 10 rebounds and 4.3 assists. RJ Barrett currently averages 23.8 points, 6.8 rebounds and 3.8 assists.

What a terrible comp.

Tatum, on the other hand averaged 16.8, 7.3 and 2.1 on a Duke team not nearly as good as this year's version. He also shot better from 3 (not great) and shot 85% from the FT line where Barrett struggles.

Based on what I have seen, Barrett plays a lot more Pippen than Tatum.

Barrett is about the same size, 1 inch shorter, 5 LBs lighter. So yeah, he will probaby average more points and fewer assists with less defense. But the comp is solid.

22 5 and 5 is what I project Barrett to produce at peak level.

Off the top of my head for the Cavs I would say that Daniel Gibson, Andy VArejao, Mathew Dellavadova and to a certian extent Joe Harris before he got caught in a numbers game were all way better than Rodney McGruder.

I dont know your criteria- age, etc...

I mean Boozer is an obvious one that is better than anyone the Heat have had thats for dam nsure.

Delonte and Mo were fairly young and unproven when they came here too but im not sure if thats in whatever your criteria are

Because minus the rebounds, as a Freshman Barrett is posting a very similar stat line, at a significantly higher level of play to what Pippen did as Senior.

But way to ignore the fact that Barret already does a decent job of creating for teammates. Way better than Tatum.

Also, like Barrett, was never a very good shooter. He was a career .326 from 3 and just over 70% from the line.

In other words, my "horrible comparison" is way better than either of yours.

And, the fact that Barrett, as an 18 year old Freshman only averages .5 fewer assists at Duke than Pippen did as a 21 year old senior is evidence that he absolutely has potential to average 5 plus assists in the NBA.

But, then again, Wiggy will disagree violently with anything I post just because it is me. Nevermind that my comp was a lot better than his.

Maybe we can get him to make another ridiculous claim.
