Magic Johnson explained why the Lakers passed on Cousins - They didn't feel that they could afford to pay out that much money for a player who wouldn't be ready to play until February and that wouldn't help them in the long term. The risk for the Lakers was not worth the chance - now if the Lakers had signed Paul George long term - I think that may have well change because playoff is when you would want Cousins and need him

I was quite pleased my friend - Quite pleased. The Lakers are now in 5th seed and making a nice run to totally fuck up the bet @WiggyRuss made with what's his name for $15000 vcash dollars that he does not have:lol:

Is Paul George any good? Down 23 in the 2nd half and he scores 47 en route to a win.

I'll still give Giannis the slight edge on the MVP race due to team record and defense, but, boy, LeBron is on his heels.

Lebron's 4th quarter last night might be the quietest 20 point quarter I've ever seen. I had no idea he had scored that many until they were talking about it after the game.

Some of it was the fact that it was a 43 point quarter, so other guys were scoring.

But mostly it was because the points came within the flow of the offense. It never became "all Lebron, all the time".

I had no idea he had that many, he was facilitating...guys went on a streak of not hitting shots but the key was a player like Hart or Kuzma was hitting timely shots. Lebron brought them back in the game but it didnt seem like it was all him imo

Lebron leads the NBA in 4th quarter scoring at 9.1...
2. Jimmy Butler 8.3
3. Kemba 8.2
4. Booker 7.2
5. Griffin 7.1
5. Giannis 7.1

Yeah I would have to agree at this point

The same deal was offered to the Lakers.

They passed.

The Lakers turned down a chance to get DeMarcus Cousins, reports The New York Times' Marc Stein.

Cousins agreed to a one-year, $5.3 million deal with the Warriors on Monday.

According to Stein, the Lakers, "after signing Rajon Rondo away from New Orleans and then losing Randle to the Pelicans, had an opportunity to sign Cousins at a one-year price point similar to the one that landed him in Golden State. But [Stein was] told the Lakers passed, clearing the way for the Warriors to infuriate the basketball public yet again."

LA reportedly turned down chance to sign Cousins

So there it is. Regardless, I've been about as anti-Boogie as anyone on this board. Adding his cancerous ways to the young Lakers roster would've been suicidal IMO.

Yeah, I really like how his game and the way Luke wants the team to play is starting to work.

It's not Warriors level obviously, but you can see it starting to work like that (Warriors JV? lol) with the ball just moving and finding the best shot.

It's usually going to be Lebron because he's obviously the best player, but it doesn't look like he's having to work as hard. Which is the point of what they've been trying to do.

To be fair though, some of this is the result of the competition they've had lately. So they need to show they can do this against the better teams. But, you have to show you can do it against the bad teams before you can do it against the good ones.

The Spurs are a solid win because of Pop, DeRozan and LA...but they're not at full strength either, so it's not as solid as it could have been.
