It's better than what we had because it does involve more teams. But, we also end up with the same debates that we had with the BCS and the "Bowl Alliance" (or whatever that was).
I'd say that any time you have a system where part of a teams case is that they have "better losses" than other teams, the system at least needs to be tweaked if not replaced.
I'd say the playoff committee got it right. Playoff expansion is dumb. Pretty soon people are going to start talking about expanding from 8 to 16, to eventually what's done in college basketball (not even possible).
People complaining about UGA being left out need to put things in perspective. The CFB playoff is there to determine who's the #1 team in the nation outright (better than the BCS system). UGA is without a doubt a top 4 team in the country, but we know they're not the best. They had their chance against Bama, and failed.
