I would have preferred Kawhi but I think people are making way too much about fit.

Kawhi is the better player so I would have preferred him. But I really don't get why everyone is saying that Butler is such a bad fit for the Sixers. A swing that can hit perimeter shots and create his own shot. Kawhi's usage rate is consistently higher than Butler's has been.

Kawhi can do everything Butler can do (aside from create for teammates) but a little better. And he is a much better catch and shoot player. That compliments Simmons' skill set a lot better. That is why people keep saying it.

I agree that Kawhi is a better player. I said so in my post. And if the Sixers could have got Kawhi for Saric, Covington and Fultz they should have done that. But Jimmy Butler is a damned good player who should be able to fit in quite well for the team. I don't want to be a prisoner of the moment but the Sixers are 7-1 since getting Butler.

And truth be told I think that it may turn out that Butler is a BETTER fit than Kawhi because right now the Sixers backup point guard is TJ McConnell. Butler is definitely a better facilitator than Kawhi so having him and Simmons on the floor at the same should open up opportunities for Simmons.

So Jaylen Brown got banged up a few games back... he has been out while recuperating.

Since then, the C's offense... previously lackluster (to put it mildly)... has gone on a run of 124 pts, then 128 pts, and now 119 pts tonight... all wins.

Small sample size... and, in fairness, one of those wins was against the hapless Cav's... but this set of games really throws into stark relief how poorly Brown has been playing... arguably fouling up the whole works this young season for Boston.

---------

When Brown is back healthy... it'll be interesting to see if the C's keep Marcus Smart in the starting line up ahead of him.

I'm not giving up on Brown or anything like that... but he does need to play better.

@Wamu

I cant lie...i hope the Buckeyes make the CFP but i think its doubtful they do-- even though i think if they played Oklahoma and or Notre Dame they would beat either team on a neutral field......i think the Sooners will likely get in over them.

It will be fun to bitch slap whatever team the Pac-12 decides to send to the Rose Bowl again this year I suppose.
