My stance from a couple of weeks back still stands; blow that shit up until there's nothing left. Don't even worry about getting near equal value in any of the trades. Just take whatever scraps you can get and start fresh.
I mean, yeah.

They've done it before with Arenas, Swaggy, Blatche and McGee.

So, they have the blueprint.

Kuzma is without a doubt a GREAT role player- and considering his cost control over the next few seasons he is a real asset.

But when I talk about "hit" I mean a guy who can be one of the guys in a potential Big 3.

Is it possible Kuzma develops into that? id say doubtful but not impossible. He was already a long-time college player and came into the NBA with a lot of his development already completed. Plus he is allergic to defense. Can he be Bosh or Love? I dont see it.

That's fair. I was more referencing Kuzma as outplaying his draft position where in this case would be considered a hit. But in terms of being an ideal fit in a Big 3 scenario as one of the core players (ala a Bosh/Love), it's definitely not something he's yet to play up to yet.

We suck at drafting?

Kuzma and Hart want @WiggyRuss to hold their beers.....
add as many role players as you want...lakers did definitely do well adding those 2 guys--- they were great late round picks

but neither is changing shit in the grand scheme of things.

What do you think that Kuzma is likely to be? Valuable role player is a huge win for a late round pick.

So apparently JR Smith believes that the Cavs are tanking...

JR Smith: Cavs' tanking 'was always the plan'

Say it ain't so! I was told that once Hinkie was driven out of town and the lottery was rejiggered, teams wouldn't tank anymore.
esp. considering if the Cavs finish outside of the top 10 worst records their pick goes to Atlanta.

If there was a year to tank again for the Cavs this is it. They will be able to get rid of the Smith, Hill, Korver contracts this year. They will continue to develop Sexton, and Osman. Hopefully get more playing time and see a step up from Hood, Nance Jr., or Clarkson (or maybe even trade Clarkson or Hood)

Clarkson, Hood, Hill and Korver all might have some trade value at the deadline to a team looking to add a piece. I would think the Suns could really use a vet like Hill to run the point and stabilize the young guys. Korver's 3 pt shooting would be welcoem just about anywhere, and Clarkson's offense off the bench would be useful to plenty of team as well.

I would be surprised if Korver isn't dealt this year. Not sure what you can expect to get for him. Not a whole lot most likely. Maybe a late 2nd?

Why in the world would the Suns, who are competing with the Cavs for worst team in basketball, make a trade for a broken and ancient PG?

Clarkson and or Hood might have some value but their time in Cleveland certainly isn't going to help their trade value.

Hope you are prepared for some rough years. Even if the Cavs somehow defy the odds AGAIN and get the No. 1 pick, they are several years away from being a serious team again.

"several" as in 4 or 5 or several as in 2 or 3?

If they have 2 down years and get like Zion Williamson or Barrett or Reddish, and another lotto talent the next year to add to Sexton and Love and Osman- it will at least be a fun team to watch again. Not only that- but maybe they deal Love or take some bad salary and get some chances at mid/late first rounders and hit on one or two.

Id say this year and next year of being REALLY bad, and after that it will start to trend up upwards and at least be fun with some hope.

and i dont think the Suns should give up anything significant for hill- but at least its a guy that could stabilize the position on a team that has been awful forever- and if the Cavs take some bad salary back the other way for hills expiring deal maybe they squeeze something out.

any chance that last years Game 7 in the ECF is the farthest the Celtics get in this era of their team?

I hope not.
i wonder if Hayward is really just not as good as we thought, and then coupled with the injury if he is just not that great. The Jazz run a great system and it wouldnt surprise me if his numbers took a hit in Boston---- combine that with thei njury and maybe something is going on.

I think Hayward is a great player and i would have given him the max too. Maybe it will just take time for him to get comfortable and fully healthy. He is definitely key for you guys though.

I would be surprised by that. They just have too many assets and too good a coach to think that. But it isn't outside the realm of possibility certainly.

Just to stir things up you need to start reminding people that Lonzo was the 2nd pick in the draft. Can the word bust be used yet?

:trash: (shake, rattle 'n roll)

By unintelligent people, sure.

This is all super cute but the Cavs will be shitty for decades to come. You know it, we all know it.

@Bolts don't look now but the Kings beat the Thunder and back up over .500.
I need to look at it, you can't stop me. Kings being over .500 is a great thing to see.

Just because he is healthy enough to play that doesn't mean he's fully recovered. Severe injuries like that will take a while, even if the player is back on the court. A lot of mouths to feed on that team; difficult to get that same level of production.
