The Warriors are off right now, losing to the Suns is not something the Warriors should be doing. I know the playoffs are a different animal but I can't see the Warriors winning the title again this year.
I'm fine with Slopez leaving. No so much with Randle, especially with how Rondo has turned out (essentially Randle's pay slot). Thomas Bryant on the other hand.....
Lmfao @ Rob Lowe. They don't have that "shark" and I really don't have any confidence in Rob Lowe...I mean Pelinka. I can't imagine them trading Lebron, even if it becomes the right move. They would have to get a big haul for him, and who can provide that (and would be willing)? They will chase that second star in free agency (even if that means settling for Butler) and probably pursue AD with a package of kids until they fall short, then wait until 2020 for AD.
lets assume there was ZERO way Randle was coming back- even though i think that can be refutedYeah, the Randle thing has been beaten to death. I'm a huge Julius Randle fanboy and was hoping he'd be back. But I understand why he wasn't brought back and why he didn't want to come back.
As for Lopez, that was is a bit of a headscratcher for me. He certainly wasn't going to be the difference in whether or not they made the playoffs. But he's a lot closer to a modern NBA big than McGee. Plus, he had said he would consider coming back if they got Lebron. They could have gotten him and McGee. That way they could have had his ability to spread the floor and still had McGee's defense and rebounding.
The coaches wanting them doesn't really matter all that much because at the end of the day, a free agent has to want to come to the team. If he doesn't, it really doesn't matter who in the organization wants him.

Golden State cannot execute a sign and trade deal.Depends. @Mecca suggested that if KD really wants to leave the Warriors, they may be able to do a sign and trade that would bring them Lebron. The Lakers would probably need to include this years pick and maybe at least 1 more.
Lebron being gone might make the Lakers the more interesting to KD and KD might make them more interesting to top FA's.
This trade deadline or last?lets assume there was ZERO way Randle was coming back- even though i think that can be refuted
why let a lotto pick with RFA rights on an expiring contract just WALK instead of dealing him for an asset at the trade deadline?
i dunno maybe because JAbari Parkers knees are made of scotch tape? This trade deadline or last?
Last deadline is easy.
Because they would have kept him had they not landed LeBron.
We are harping on this deal because the Lakers Season has been a shit show.
BUT, this situation isn't unique to them.
Pistons did it with KCP and Monroe.
Bucks just did it with Parker.
Know why we aren't discussing the Bucks giving up on a #2 pick?
Because it worked out for Milwaukee and Jabari is a disaster.
You know more about the cap than me.Golden State cannot execute a sign and trade deal.
i think we are "harping" on it because the Lakers used a lotto pick on a guy that was developing and playing well- and mismanged the roster in a way where they let him walk for nothing even though they still had his RFA rights. This trade deadline or last?

i dont htink you can do sign and trdes if you are over the cap.You know more about the cap than me.
But, don't they have full bird rights on Durant now?
Hindsight is 20/20.
You make that move 10 out of 10 times of it means you land LeBron and have the ability to add another top guy.
Yes, this Season turned oit to be one bog add whooping.
No, they didn't get the 2nd guy.
Yes, Randle could have helped, ditto for Slopez.
It was still the right move even though it didn't end well.

Teams $4 million over the tax line at any point during the season cannot receive a player via sign and trade, essentially putting a hard cap on them. Deals have to be a minimum of 3 years long, and can go to 4.You know more about the cap than me.

the Warriors would be receiving players. I got that from reddit, but i believe that it basically operates as if you are over the tax apron you cannot engage in sign and trades. I gotta say, sign and trades basically never happen anymore so its not something i know a lot about. I reall cant remember the last sign and trade i saw inthe new CBA.But the Warriors wouldn't be receiving KD, the Lakers would.
