My point is Wiggy wouldn't be saying shit. And everybody here (minus you) knows this.
You get that might be because I never knew wiggy when Lebron was a Cavalier?

The problem with this is that if you open up this qualification to all of the NCAA, it probably causes more harm than helps. There are very few players who enter collegiate sports who will turn pro. It only helps really the very few elite players and could present traps for fringe pro guys who borrow more than they're going to be able to repay.

The real solution is to eliminate the one/done requirement. Let kids go direct to the pros if they want. Tough to allow in the NFL, but maybe they convert one of these new leagues into a developmental league?

Dang....

I don't think I realized how top heavy the 03 draft was until now.

Lots of guys with long careers.

But, the drop off after West was surprisingly steep when you remember this is regarded as one of the top 2 drafts ever.

2003 NBA re-draft: The way it should have been

LOL at the pic chosen of Walton. On the Cavs with a face mask? Witness relocation program...

Agreed.

If their was any type of legalized pay, I think it should be like you mentioned earlier. It should come from
Appearances and selling their likeness, etc.

No money should come in directly from the school. That way the free market would prevail and I don't think Title 9 would apply in that case. I doubt too many field hockey players or wrestlers are getting paid.

Yeah and as you mentioned, even in the revenue producing sports, there is a pretty small percentage of players who are going to make anything (at least anything significant) off their names and likenesses.

And yeah, in the other sports, maybe someone who is an Olympic caliber athlete could get something. But even that would likely be very rare.

Baseball is meant to be watched in person.

That and I also use it as background on tv when doing stuff around the house and on the radio when out running errands.

It's kind of a perfect summer sport, imo.

I like baseball.

One of the best aspects to watching a game on TV is you can fall asleep in like the 3rd inning, wake up in the 7th, see the score and all the other info in the top corner and not have missed a damn thing. Just proceed with watching.

if the Cavs were under .500 in damn near March and LeBron all of a sudden basically said "I am gonna start trying now!"

you better fucking believe I would say something- are you fucking nuts?

Yep and when doing stuff around the house, you can stop, watch for a few minutes when something exciting is happening and then just go right back to what you were doing.

It's also good background when sitting in the backyard having margarita's.

You know that's not the full story. Lebron has only been back from his injury for a few games and now feels comfortable enough to go all out after another full week off with one "game" in that stretch.

I love baseball, but as with all sports, my interest has windled to only games involving my favorite team(s), unless it's the playoffs. I'll check in with other games here and there, but won't stick with a game all the way through typically.

Flip the switch?

He's basically saying he's turning on the power....lol

In fairness, he has to go James Harden for portions of the game to even have a shot at the postseason.

If they miss.....yikes

I have always been a LeBron supporter. I think he is at minimum #2 on GOAT lists.

I honestly have trouble fathoming how people legitimately believe that he is a better basketball player than Giannis today.

I don't even think it is particularly close.

I have him #3.

He's obviously a better shifter than Giannis from the field.

But, TODAY, I would take The Freak over everyone....

LeBron, Davis, Harden...

Except....Durant and I'd have to pause for Curry.

LeBron is a monster.

But, he's old by basketball standards.

Plus, those fucking free throws.

But, I'm not quite ready to give Giannis his Crown, PERMANENTLY.

Franchise draft, I'm probably going Giannis too. Curry would actually be second for me, and Durant third. Davis probably 4th and I think I'd probably go Kawhi 5th.
