im almost 100% sure it wouldnt have

as i have said before- I have read reports where the Cavs had a deal done with the Pacers for a Love/George deal that included a bunch of light protection on draft picks- the Cavs went to LeBron and asked him to commit saying they couldnt risk their entire future for years and years like the Nets did with their Boston trade draft pick fiasco- and LeBron said no.

and that was befoer Kyrie's trade request. If LeBron was not going to commit to a team of him, kyrie and george, exactly what would he have committed to? Id contend nothing.
Yeah, the Cavs situation is a bit different than say...the Raptors.

Even if Kawhi bolts, the Raptors got that Derozan deal off the books.

They didn't mortgage their future to get him.

Cavs would have needed to give up picks for a rental.

No, Sir.....

My 16-1 fantasy basketball team was very happy with his performance
Dude is just a professional scorer.

I'm really happy we didn't deal him or Montrezl.

I was afraid they were going to attach one or the other to dump the last year of Gallo.

As for fantasy, I picked up Shamet in most of my fantasy leagues.

He's doing well, so far.

Context is everything.

Maybe Magic should have kept quiet.

But, nothing nefarious was going on here.

Glad Brand apologized.

Might be time for me, and others, to call off the Lakers witch hunt.

Philadelphia 76ers general manager Elton Brand called Los Angeles Lakers president of basketball operations Magic Johnson Monday afternoon to apologize for insinuating in a radio interview that the Lakers had called — unprompted — to ask permission for Johnson to speak with Sixers forward Ben Simmons, league sources told ESPN.

In the interview with 97.5 The Fanatic on Monday morning, Brand said, “Rob Pelinka called me and said that Ben wanted to talk to Hall of Famers after the season, Magic was on the list. He asked for authorization … I said no.” he did not mention in that interview that someone from the Sixers, at the urging of one of Simmons’ brothers, had contacted Pelinka first, which is what prompted his call to Brand

i disagree.

even if they bring in Paul what is their % chance of winning a championship?

what if the Pacers were asking for 3 first rounders with no protection?

if LeBron signs- thats a deal you do- if he doesnt- you are in a Brooklyn situation.

imagine the Cavs having NO draft pick this year. and no draft pick a 2 years from now, and no draft pick 4 years from now.

the franchise would become a joke for a decade.

you cant risk your franchise for 1 year - esp. when there is nothing guaranteed- in fact youd still be the under dog.
On that I agree, but few picks are moved with no protection these days. But, yeah, no way you do it if unprotected and no commitment.

I submit this inbred looking mofo.

Candace Parker must have thought he was gonna be a Hofer.

make no mistake- Brand apologized because Rich Paul is Simmons agent.

there was self interest there.

Also good from a newish GM stand point to not piss off other organizations that you may intend to deal with in the future. I think Brand has done really well so far though.

If LeBron wants them in the playoffs, they'll make it. Hopefully they get a 1st round exit from whoever they play.
My guess is they will be a 1st round exit if they get in since they'll likely be at the bottom of the pack - 8th or 7th seed.

Have to admit I could not bet against them if they played Denver.

Not only that, but I would think they'd want to be resting him as much as possible considering all of the energy he's had to use keeping their head above water while they dealt with the injuries they had.

I could see chasing individual stats/records if they were a bad team. But, if healthy, this Rockets team can be a real threat. But not if Harden is worn out by the time the playoffs start.
We literally saw it happen in the WCF last year.

I don't think they could beat the Thunder.

But, not enough to use my house as collateral in a wager..lol

The only sure fire 1st round knockout is the Dubs.

I think they'd get swept.

But, most games would be close, competitive.
