I am waiting for those hilarious ESPN numbskulls to hype up the final and Kevin Anderson's chances of taking the title. They have to come up with lame comments to make the final more appetizing.

Even though Nadal may win this slam and gain ground in the tally race with Fed, I am ok rooting for him now. After Fed won the last two slams nothing matters now.
i don't see nadal catching him, but if he does, nadal would be a fitting champion to do it.

congrats to rafa on his us open win

easiest major draw in history, imo, but he's a classy guy, and i'm looking forward to seeing him take the trophy home.

Yeah his draw was an embarrassment. Hoping the big guy can at least take a set though.

As soon as FED skipped the FO, I thought we may have lost the opportunity to see the calendar GS. I thought if there was any year FED was going to beat Nadal at the FO, this was his best chance. And he could have skipped the Wimbledon warm ups and still won that tourney.

But since he lost the USO, it doesn't matter anymore.

Other questions. Will anyone win every major 2x in the Open Era? FED and Djokovic need a 2nd FO.

Nadal needs a second AO. He's lost the last 3 times he was in the AO Finals.

Was going against Del Potro "easy" even if he won in 4 easy sets?

I'm looking forward to the Finals because I like the way Anderson plays, and Nadal is playing pretty well too (but his 2013 USO was probably better).

I don't know if it will be a competitive match, but if it's better than the Wimbledon Finals, then I will like it more.

I hope there's competitive sets.

it was the 1 and only quality opponent he faced. even if it had gone 5 sets, this draw still would've been the easiest path to a major title in history.

i'm not saying anything controversial.

good for rafa. fed got a pretty easy one for wimbledon this year, too. love how it's rafa and fed winning all the majors again, even though they're the elder statesmen of the tour.

Due to Kevin big serve, I can see 2 tight sets even if it is a straight set Rafa win

I cant see Rafa losing as Anderson is nothing more than a serve. Still, I will root for Anderson to win to keep Nadal behind Fed.

What about some of those AOs when 1/2 of the best players skipped it?

that's a good point

there were a bunch of years where more than 1 or 2 of the best skipped it even though it was a major.

Congrats to Sloane.

Good comeback story.

The post match ceremony was great. The hug with Keys; her reaction at getting the check; the hug with her box.

If Sloane can win it, why can't Wozniacki? Still surprising that Wozniacki hasn't had deeper runs if Sloane can do this.

Sloane's game reminds me more of that Italian USO Finals from 2015, or a little more like Kerber. But I think Kerber has a more aggressive return game.

Sloane has more power and much better movement then Penetta. Pretty much her entire game is better. Woz only has movement and a BH. The rest of her game is not that good.

Thanks.

I guess I don't see much power yet, but I'll pay more attention next time.

I do think Wozniacki can get more aces with her slice up/down the middle.

Nothing wrong with rooting for Anderson. He has overachieved as it is
