The Rangers are still paying ARod. We owe him $5 million in 2018.
That’s funny and pathetic at the same time.
When is he off the books?

Why the Rangers' remaining $40 million obligation to Alex Rodriguez will not impact business
The Rangers owed Rodriguez approximately $26 million in deferred money when the team went through bankruptcy in 2010. That money was to be paid off from 2016 through 2025. The money, however, does not come from the Rangers' operating budget or impact the team's payroll. It was funded and funneled into an investment account at the time the Rangers changed ownership. The money has since grown and will continue to grow over the course of the payments, according to a source familiar with the arrangement.
New Rangers ownership, however, has never counted that money against its bottom line.
No!! We don't need to spend money on position players without adequate pitching and we have not got it now.
need a TORP first before we even think about CainNo!! We don't need to spend money on position players without adequate pitching and we have not got it now.
i can believe thatHearing that this is just a ploy to increase interest in Cain.
agree, he supposedly is looking for a minimum AAV of 17,5M
If true, that's a pretty lowball offer.
Agree. Too much to give with no room to grow within.according to bleacher report they are saying that the Rangers should trade Taveras, Guzman and Mendez to the Rays for Archer, don't care much for that although i would love to have Archer but that is too steep
