I don't see Peppers as a true difference maker at this point his career - he is not going to elevate a DLine. A good complimentary piece, sure.

Scandrick and Brown both present question marks right now, IMO. Scandrick might have lost a step, and I would be hesitant to count on Brown to be a full time starter at this point. Not saying Scandrick can't recover, and Brown can't prove to be a consistent capable starter, but I would feel a lot better if Dallas went into the draft with another CB that they know what they are going to get from.
Yup. that's what I was saying. Don't NEED both though. One or the other allows you to go into the draft with 3 CBs and adding an early pick in the draft would take it up another level if they hit.

Again, I'll throw the idea out there as an insurance policy, assuming he takes a pay cut, Revis at safety or a lesser corner. He likely won't sign anywhere prior to June 1 so we can evaluate there but it's a safety net in case we're in a bad spot at that point.

Reports are saying Revis won't play for less than $8m. No thanks.

Some interesting thoughts here about the draft, considering we shouldn't draft for need but always draft the BPA. At least that is what I was always led to believe.

great draft for DB's this year. Truly outstanding, so I see both need and BPA.

I hope we really make strong push at Hankins. Lawrence/Tapper/Draft pick Hankins Collins Irvin/Crawford/Draft pick? IMO would free up a lot we missed out on snacks last year, he's same type of guy. You could even cut Crawford sign Ware/Peppers type to help progress our already young d-line and draft pick(s) as well. Frazier is similar to Wilcox IMO and cheaper. Maybe get Carr back cheap. Draft a corner or two, a safety, maybe a lb, and our defense would be pretty solid. We have a few players who have shown flashes on our d-line and some guys who havent really played but we liked. IMO Hankins would be my #1 priority and I'd drop Romo off for their 7th round pick in 2020 to ensure it.

Rival GM: I wouldn't sign Darrelle Revis if he played for free

“Have you seen his tape?” one general manager told the Daily News. “I wouldn’t let him play for me for free.”

“Revis is done,” one front office executive said of the player’s diminishing skillset. “You respect the body of work throughout his career, but all good things come to an end.”

Crawford is a tough one. Has not been good, but has shown some in spurts and has been injured a lot. I don't think we cut him, but you will know for sure in the next 4 days because his 2017 salary becomes guaranteed on 3/13. The mistake was restructuring him last year, but we never learn so it's not surprising - look at what Romo's contract would be if we never restructured him? We'd be in position to grab a true top tier FA. If we cut Crawford today his 2017 cap hit actually goes up $50K. If we designate him post 6/1 we save $7M this year, but still have to account for that $7M next year. So why bother? Plus, the team still talks like he is worth his contract. I've made excuses for him and said for the last time he played poorly because of injuries. So now I'll just sit back and see if he is better, but I'm no longer expecting it.

Could be right but I also don't think anyone on the Jets tried last year, man were they painful to watch go through the motions.

Report: Terrell McClain to leave Dallas for Washington

The last few days haven’t been filled with good news about the current state of affairs for the Redskins, but they appear to have landed a free agent while others are heading for the exit.

Master Tesfatsion of the Washington Post reports that the team is expected to sign defensive tackle Terrell McClain away from their division rivals in Dallas. Tesfatsion reports it is a four-year deal with a total value of more than $21 million.

McClain started all 15 games he played for the Cowboys during the regular season last year. He posted 40 tackles, 2.5 sacks and two forced fumbles in those appearances.

The Redskins have Chris Baker set to become a free agent on Thursday afternoon and the signs are pointing to him joining DeSean Jackson and Pierre Garçon in leaving the team to sign with someone else. McClain’s arrival would help mitigate that loss, but more work is needed to improve a defense that ranked 28th in yards allowed last year.

Jack Crawford gone. No big deal, but good for him. He played hard and he did whatever he was asked. I hope he does well.
