I guess we are gonna lose everybody. Cool.
well. We can't both complain about our defense not being good enough and also complain about losing those players. It's kind of gotta be one or the other. So far Church hurt a little and Leary we knew was gone. Not much else to talk about

My guess is we may lose everyone. We should have resigned them before FA started if we really wanted someone. I think we sit back and wait for the crazy signings to end and pick up the scraps in a week or two.

This is getting crazy. I know it's not our best players but we are losing those glue guys.

I'm not worried about anyone we've lost.. I wouldn't want them at the prices they ate signing for...period. They weren't that damn good lol. Don't get me wrong, I wish them well, but those same fellas were 4-12 without Dak, Zeke or Romo. All the things that made us a good team last year, QB, RB, WR, best OL(Collins will be great next year) in the game, the best kicker and Sean Lee...all that's coming back

I can't believe some of the money these guys are getting. Not a Brandon Marshall fan, but how did he end up with just 6.5/ yr.

I'm seeing Ravens interested in Mo and Bucs want Wilcox. Haven't seen anything on Carr

Keep building for the future, and turn over the roster. Would have been nice to keep Mo, but if we don't handicap ourselves in FA, then we can continually resign our own better players. Outside of Mo and Gilmore, I would rather take my chances with the group of rookies in this year's draft at corner. Draft a handful of corners and safeties this year and we should be good.

I concur. It's hard watching all these teams seemingly get better while we are losing players and not signing anyone. Truth is if we sign one of these guys going today, we will likely overpay tremendously.

Have to wonder what we have in Frazier if we are content to let both Church and Wilcox leave without a fight. After the draft we just had last year, I believe that there is a decent chance the kid is just as good of a safety as Brown was a corner. I'm not going to assume that we whiffed on anyone.

SS isn't hard to fill if you put a little effort into it and easier to play for a guy like Frazier when you have a guy like Jones next to you. If the team thinks he can start I'm honestly all for it. I just never got that feeling because there were many times to get him snaps and they passed on him except for when they had no other choice. But, he was a rookie so maybe just needs to get some reps and learn the defense...

Well if you designate Romo post 6/1 you can take this up then...depending on how it is structured of course.

Pretty sure Dallas can do it right now and it won't effect this year's cap hit. Martin is still in year 4 of his rookie deal, which is fully guaranteed under all circumstances. See Travis Frederick as an example. Correct me if I am wrong, of course.

As far as annual salary goes sure, but I assume if he signs a mega contract there is quite a large signing bonus. So 1/5 (assuming it's at least a 5 year contract) hits this year, right?

You're right, 1/5 of signing bonus money would be counted against the cap in 2017. I was looking at Frederick's signing bonus money wrong, thought what was listed was from his rookie contract.

Judging by Frederick and Smith's signing bonus', I think Martin might see a signing bonus somewhere around $7-8m? So somewhere around an additional $1.5m cap hit.

Not sure what parameters will be exactly but it will be higher than what Bitonio just signed for by quite a bit I would guess.

So I guess the glass half full outlook is, in order to get better we need new players, that will happen (hoping Tapper is an internal answer). We also have comp picks to look forward to next year. Kill it in the draft, hopefully get some bargain free agents that can contribute (Amukamara?). Core is still intact, hopefully we can get something for Romo.

Not holding my breath for compensation for Romo. The way I see it, Houston looks to be the only squad that may feel compelled to send us something other than a thank you card. Everyone else appears willing to wait us out.
If the FO wishes to grab a vet corner to cover bases, I think they will wait this thing out and end up signing Carr back at a low price, low guaranteed money - like a one year deal with an option for a second year.
