Wow, this combine was an eye opener for me. I think we've got to come out of the draft with not 2, but three of these DBs. Plenty to choose from, slot corners, speed guys, physical ones, tweeners, strong safeties, dime safeties. I didn't know there was this much talent in this draft. Could set us up for years if we hit on 2 of the 3.

I'm pretty excited about the DB's

Like Safety John Johnson from Boston College in round 3 or 4 and really like the Ohio State CB. Garelon Conley.

Cowboys Tender Offer To ERFA DT David Irving
Nate Bouda 8 hours ago Cowboys 0 Comments

ESPN’s Todd Archer reports that the Cowboys tendered a contract to exclusive rights free agent DT David Irving.

Irving’s exclusive rights tender will end up being a one-year contract worth $615,000 for the 2017 season.

Irving, 23, originally signed on with the Chiefs as an undrafted free agent out of Iowa State back in 2015. He was waived at the start of the regular season and later added to the Chiefs’ practice squad.

Just a few weeks into the 2015 season, the Cowboys signed him to their active roster and he’s been with them ever since.

In 2016, Irving appeared in 15 games recorded 17 tackles, four sacks, a fumble recovery, four forced fumbles and five pass defenses. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 29 interior defender out of 127 qualifying players.

  • Cowboys
    • Clarence Hill Jr. reports that the Cowboys priorities for free agency and the draft are to find a wide receiver and a “war daddy” pass-rusher.
    • The Cowboys may need to replace WR Terrance Williams, who could depart in free agency, but the Cowboys plan to work hard to keep him at the right price, according to Hill Jr.

  • free agent WR Terrance Williams is reportedly in line to receive $6-$8 million per year, per Robinson.

Free Agent DE Jack Crawford Has Interest From 5 Teams Including Cowboys, Colts, Bills & Jaguars
Nate Bouda 13 hours ago Bills, Colts, Cowboys, Jaguars 0 Comments

Jason Cole of B/R is reporting that free agent DE Jack Crawford has interest from roughly five teams as of now including the Cowboys, Colts, Bills and Jaguars.

Cole adds that there’s still a chance Crawford could return to Dallas next year.

Crawford, 28, is a former fifth-round pick of the Raiders back in 2012. He lasted just over two years in Oakland before he was waived at the start of the 2014 season and later signed by the Cowboys.

Dallas elected to bring Crawford back on a one-year contract last year.

In 2016, Crawford appeared in all 16 games for the Cowboys and recorded 25 tackles and 3.5 sacks. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 106 edge defender out of 109 qualifying players.

  • According to Brandon George, the Cowboys won’t be very active in NFL free agency this year and instead plan to sign a few of their own players.
  • Although, George admits that Dallas may not even be able to do that, given their cap situation.

I watched the DB's last night on NFL network replay.
BOY....you are right. Maybe Dallas does a SF like Ronnie Lott's rookie year and drafts 3 first year contributors.

Cam Sutton is flying under radar. Not a Vol fan at all, but the guy is a baller. Should have come out after Jr. Yr. Future slot corner.

Hoping the secondary depth in the draft as well as free agency lowers the price of corners. Maybe we bring Mo back cheaper if a saturated market causes the salaries to decrease. Supply and demand.

I most definitely want a strong safety thumper/enforcer in that mold, I think the D needs it and the team feeds off that. That's the guy I don't want to miss on - has to be the right type of personality to do it well. I don't know what our coaches envision out of our former rookie - Brown. Is he going to be our slot CB? Can he be a boundary CB or will we move him around. We need to take a shot on one of these press outside guys, but which asset do we care most about (speed or tackling). I also would like us to take a another guy who has traits to be both a corner and safety and he can be the developmental type. I love the g roup we have to choose from.

Hearing that the Boys may have interest in Kenny Britt to replace Williams. Not my first choice but I get it.

hard to say but I don't see Dallas signing many free agents this year other than a few of their own. The $$ thrown around for these wide receivers is to much IMO.

I really like a sleeper receiver late in the draft such as U of Houston's, Greg Ward. Former QB who loves football, smart, and is 100% all about team.

According to Clay Travis, an ex local radio guy now national, Kenny Britt was a part of what was gonna be the most explosive offense the NFL had ever seen. Qb- Vince Young. RB- CJ2k WR Randy Moss WR Kenny Britt. 7 weeks later the Titans were terrible and Moss had 6 catches. Clay swung and missed big time. With that being said, Britt has shown flashes
