when rickard is back I think boom boom should get some of trumbos abs while he is ice cold . we will be keeping the 5 man bench. I can even see gausman down to work on his stuff it's not like we are hurting for pitching atm . we want need a 5th starter until may 2 . I say go with the hot hand . both acker and Aquino have pitched well as starters and I would keep tilly down until he starts pitching good or his rehab is up . britton will be crickton down most likely .

I like brach but don't forget he gets tired and hit around close to the end of the season . we are so blessed with our bp . I think we have a 4 closers givens , brach and hart while britton is hurt . I still think oday is hurting .

Agreed. I didnt watch parts of the game but I'm assuming it's the same nibbling stuff with two strikes that he does which hitters either foul off or take, which jacks his pitch count up and takes him out of the game quicker.

if I was his coach I would get them to put glove in the middle of the plate and say pitch . he has so much movement and no control . waldo can't repeat his wind up . he is a yo yo

Agreed. Trumbo needs to take a day or two to clear his head and work on things. Put Mancini in RF, Smith in LF and have Kim DH.

Overall, I can't complain about his performance. Letting up 2 in 7 innings usually will give you a good chance to win the game. The offense couldn't solve the Tampa bullpen last night. I agree with a couple of the other posters in that Trumbo might need to be benched for a game or two to try to figure out what's ailing him this year.

Manny is coming around. He has raised his BA from .170 to .205 from April 19th to yesterday, and his OBP has also risen from .273 to .306
Trumbo on the other hand, is doing a reverse. His BA has went from .250 to .190 since April 19th to yesterday and his OBP has went from .278 to .229.

It should be noted that both Machado and Trumbo are arguably unlucky in 2017 so far: Their BABIP for the current season are 0.218 (vs. a career average of 0.307) and 0.246 (vs. a career average of 0.286), respectively. In fact, you could say the same of Hardy: 0.245 BABIP this year, vs. a career average of 0.278.

2. Amazingly, the Orioles are still tied for the best record in the AL / 2nd best record in the MLB even after this loss. Considering the performance of this team's pitching staff as a whole in all other games before this one, I'll write it off as a fluke for now... with the possible exception of Gausman (although you could still make the argument that he has been extremely unlucky with that 0.361 BABIP).

Seriously, just DFA Jiménez and Nuño already and promote two guys from the farm system as an "addition by subtraction" move. (No, seriously... you cannot even use the "bad luck" excuse when their BABIP figures are 0.258 and 0.286, respectively.)
