First round goalies are a total crap shoot. To lose a 3rd rounder for a non-elite goalie I guess they think he will be there starter in a few years.

With that said I guess the Blues weren't drafting him.

I thought Brayden Schenn was really starting to come on as a player last season.

Guess they figure Nolan Patrick eliminates the need for Schenn.

I think they could've done better than Lehtera coming off a down year and #28. STL should be happy to have missed out on their goalie.

Most likely on the trade but that is my point about the crapshoot at this point. Not sure it was worth the move. The Blues are a better team now and should be happy they could make that deal.

With that said that Goalie might be the next Brodeur but it is Dallas so I highly doubt it.

I agree with what cosentino said about not burning first rounders ongoalies but .. if the crop of talent doesnt stand out, you like a goalie, you already have the 3rd overall in your pocket, you go get the goalie
