Oh and for the love of god can we get a punt returner and special teams coach who can get these guys to stop holding on returns

DC, remember the discussion over at KFFL a few years ago - about Harris, Champ and Talib

Both Harris and Talib have been great, consistently, since then

But here's the question:

Is Harris better than Talib ?? ... I say no ... so is Talib better than Champ ??

It's not fair to compare, but fun ...

Champ had six different defensive coordinators here during his 10 year career with the Broncos

- Larry Coyer
- Bob Slowik ( seriously, WTF was Shanahan thinking ?? )
- Mike Nolan
- Don Martindale
- Dennis Allen
- Jack Del Rio

What would Champ have been in the Wade Phillips defense of the past few years ??

What would Chris Harris have been in Bob Slowik's defense ??

Right now, as I was back on KFFL, I am debating Champ vs Talib as #1

An argument could be made for any of the three
Very hard to make those comparisons because the system they played in was very instrumental in the success they had. Put Champ or Harris on a team that didn't fit their skill sets or recognize it and their NFL success could be vastly different. Put Elliot behind Denver's O line this year and he is probably unfairly named a disappointment by many football " draft experts ". A lot depends on which team these guys go to when their drafted as too how their football careers unfold and unfortunately sometimes their potential for stardom rest solely on the system and coaches their dealt.

LOL, that might be the shortest (and most agreeable) post you've ever made, JDL. ;)

Off the wall thought I will stick here. Now one half of this has probably been talked about extensively. Romo blah blah ... I actually like TS but he reminds me of an Elvis Grbac Trent Green type. I think he would be perfect in a place like Chicago with a strong running game, conservative. I really believe he can be a solid starter, but I don't think Elway will ever accept that for Denver. So maybe we trade him. Think about the value to another team that ridic 7th rd contract and the frightening prospect to GMs of signing the next Brock to a mega contract. We wouldn't get a 1st and the low impact rates of 2nd rd picks maybe not worth it to us... but that may ultimately where things go with him. Value may not get higher especially if he struggles more in year two and gets benched for the shiny new qb waiting in the wings.

@Duffman I would say it all depends some on what we do with Okung. If we need a LT then Whitworth is easily the best one on the market. He is up in age so he would be signed with the idea of drafting somebody to replace him in a year or two.

Right Tackle I like Ricky Wagner of the Ravens. I liked him more when we had Kubiak but he is still a great all around RT.

Riley Reiff is a great pass blocking option. He isn't great as a run blocker.

The guard position I would try for Zeitler, Leary, Warford, Lang, and Warmack.

Players that have to be upset over the coaching change wondering where their future is at...

James Ferentz
Jared Crick
Garrett Graham
Justin Forsett
Marlon Brown

Ya know the former Texans or Ravens in Forsett's/Brown's case. They will get their fair opportunity I am sure. Assuming they are all back in camp, which they may not be, beings some have contracts expiring.

I would add any OL player that fits much better in a ZBS type system. So Sambrailo, Schofield, and even Okung have to be a bit worried

I hope the new offense has a home for Andy Janovich. I really want to see this kid come back strong and be a big dynamic on offense!

Well the good thing is that both Musgrave and McCoy had a full back on their roster. So have to think they will find ways to get him involved.

One name that I have not seen here that I like is Chris Baker. He was here a few years back, but didn't fit the system. He played really well in Washington in the few games I saw over the last couple of years. He probably doesn't get the big money, but could be a nice add to the DLine.
