Those were good players, but I wouldn't call them fantastic with the exception of Robert Horry who actually was a dirty player. Trevor Ariza was just as good as Ron Artest, but not quite as physical. Lamar was inconsistent. Glen Rice isn't really fantastic - Like I said, Mitch did get lucky sometimes and for the record - Jerry West got Robert Horry - NOT KUPCHAK. And might name is not Jr dumbass

I understand. But Wade was synonymous to the Heat as Kobe was to the Lakers. It really has nothing to do with the money they bring in. It has more to do with the salary cap. The Heat would've had to give up pieces to keep Wade at the price he wanted, and I'm glad they didn't. I saw how Kobe delayed the rebuild the Lakers needed.

The contract the Lakers gave him isn't what delayed the rebuild. Kobe being old, injured and no longer a guaranteed deep playoff run and Jim Buss being incompetent is what delayed the rebuild. At least from the standpoint of rebuilding via FA.
