Agree. Even if the Lakers do nothing else right now (including trade for PG-13) they will now have some $60 million available in cap space for 2018.

Also, to get PG-13 now, they were going to have to clear cap space to fit him in.

They can trade for him and get 2 max players.....and for those that say why LA?

Because, they have a coach is up and coming and have some nice young players plus it's CA....

And I really believe James to LA because of Magic and him wanting to be an owner....he can pick Magic's brain and he's a brilliant businessman.....something James is and wants to get better at.

What I hope they don't do though, is move another young piece to get rid of Deng. I'd prefer that they stretch him.

Losing Russell was part of the cost of moving Mozgov. That's okay if they truly are getting PG-13. Losing another young guy to move Deng would be a mistake, imo.

Plus, I think they'll deal Deng and create even more cap space.

Nobody thought they'd deal Mozzy (when he signed last summer) but they did.

:heh:

As long as they don't have to move another young guy to do it. At this point, they should only move another young guy if it gets them PG-13.

They can keep Deng one more season to see if last year was just an off year for him and he can bounce back. If not, they can stretch him after the season and create even more cap space.

I think they move him before the draft next year....they stretch him if they can't find a trade partner.

Hmmmm......shit still isn't looking good there.

Was Irving possibly req a trade a fabrication also? Lots of stuff out there.

Yeah, who knows.

There's so many rumors flying around and a lot of them directly contradict each other. Unless it comes from one of the big news-breakers... best to take it with a grain of salt.

So Butler just backed off it by himself then....

Yeah I knew that part. Wasn't aware of what the details were. Have a feeling it's based on the public perception of what's going on in Cleveland - Griffin dismissed, Lebron in contract year, blown out in Finals, etc..
