Celtics even came out right away and said they never heard anything....still numerous reporters reported it and the guy from ESPN has a story up that he chose Boston, then again....it's ESPN.

Too many people were going with it for it to be just speculation.

How exactly?

1 person tweets something and everyone else repeats it.

Unless it came direct from GH, the team he signed with, or Woj, it ain't official. This story did not come from either.

ESPN has in out for Boston, probably on account of Brady.

He may have been close to choosing Boston. But, if somebody leaked something they were not supposed to, it could cause him to change his mind. Not a good look.

Yep.

Whoever made the Caron Butler comparison was spot on, IMO.

Hayward will likely be a perennial all star if he goes East, but he probably wouldn't get selected again for awhile if he stays in Utah.

Butler was a very good player. Not a superstar, but good enough to be a second option on a really good team. That is exactly how I see Hayward.

Players get bonuses for all star appearances so if I'm a player like him, I'd totally go East. It makes way too much sense. Easier path to the ASG. It's so open that a solid starter like JJ Redick could legitimately make the team. It's also much easier to get to the Finals. Hell, Cleveland is just one injury away from making the East wide open for like 5 or 6 teams.

I agree, but unless it came from the Celtics first, then why should it? I'm pretty sure ESPN were the ones who reported it first, I could be wrong.

Often times a blowhard. But couldn't be more right in this case.
