has there ever been so much coverage for a second-tier player

Hayward is decent, but he is a one-time allstar for an okay team.
But, the pursuit of him made it seem like he was some first team ALL-NBA prize.

At age 27, he is not some young player with tremendous upside.

He is basically Caron Butler

The Cavs win the east without breaking a sweat regardless of where Hayward ends up.

I disagree with this. He's a 2nd tier wing and a good player. Boston gets Hayward and they have a chance at Cleveland, albeit Cleveland would still be the favorites. If Lebron leaves next year, Boston's in the driver's seat for the East barring any other major moves in the East.

Damn. I didn't realize that Hayward has increased his ppg each year he's been in the league.

I agree. He's not turning a team into a title contender. Boston gets closer to Cleveland but still don't think at the moment they have enough.

I agree with this. I'd rather Riley just resign Johnson and Waiters now and get started on preparing for next year.

This is damage control by Hayward IMO. Reports came out that he didn't notify Utah and now they're going to act like he still didn't make his decision lol

Yep as I said this is damage control by his team because of the reports that he did not notify Utah after choosing Boston.
