With Ainge's track record of drafting (he's drafted zero all stars with 19 picks or something along that), I'd take the better player over hoarding draft picks.
In fairness: drafting "stars" is the hardest thing to do for an NBA franchise.

Boston has one of the deepest teams in the NBA... in no small part due to their decent record of drafting.

Bradley, Olynyk, Brown, Smart, Rozier... all 'good' draft picks. An overseas guy like Zizic (good buzz around him) has a chance to join this list.

I'd hazard to guess that the C's are above average when it comes to drafting.

Heyward's going to eat up more of your cap space though where with Bulter you have more room to maneuver on your cap.
You got me here... I think with the Stevens/Hayward connection though, the C's may simply be happier with Hayward for the long haul.

In terms of the long haul, Butler will almost certainly command a hefty contract 2 years from now.

It's usually around $200-$300 for an ounce of top shelf out here. Things be expensive in Cali.

Well I hope when the recreational shops get there the prices on the medical side go down.

Holy fuck $50 for an 1/8? That's expensive. Here in mile high country I can get a top shelf oz. for about $116 @ my weed shack.

I'm hoping that the addition of recreational weed will drive down the price for medicinal. I doubt it, but I can hope. lol

In a whole, I'm not disagreeing with what you're saying. Ainge has set up the Celtics to be a contender in the short term if he plays it right this summer; the assets he's collected (thanks Nets) is impressive.

Butler will command a hefty contract down the road once his contract is up. Had the Celtics traded for him, they'd have his bird rights, and probably have the roster they wanted around him. At that point, it's up to ownership to determine how far they want to dip into the luxury tax - given the fanbase, I'd have to say they'd do it.

The Hayward connection with Stevens is something to watch out for. If you twisted my arm, I'd say Boston wins his free agency. I think he realizes that Utah's reached its ceiling, especially with the Warriors out West.

I give hope for Miami because of culture and Riley; particularly with the turn around we had in the 2nd half. If we had tanked and won about 25-28 games (my original prediction), I think it would be a slam dunk for Hayward to go to Boston.

I'm also hoping that the "rumors" of Hayward's wife loving Miami comes into play. But a lot of the stuff we're all going off of is rumors.

Delivery is nice. But I prefer going to the collective so that I can smell the different strains before deciding. Plus, a lot of times they will have free dabs, etc.
