Paul Chryst - Wisconsin - Preseason O/U 9.5 wins
Wisconsin was viewed to have an easy schedule to begin with but bottom line is they won every game and only two were by less than ten points and one was a garbage time field goal to get it to 8. Just won the biggest test on the schedule with only Minnesota who just got dominated by Northwestern and trying to be bowl eligible.

Urban Meyer - Ohio State - Preseason O/U 10 wins
Wrapped one of the most competitive divisions in college football. Had a tough schedule with Oklahoma early on. Two ugly losses but outside of the Penn State game, has crushed everyone else they faced. Michigan is the last game of the year and Michigan wants blood for just pride sake while OSU might be trying to make a statement to the committee.

Pat Fitzgerald- Northwestern - Preseason O/U 7 wins
Has his team at 8-3 with quality wins over MSU and Iowa. Expectations are rarely high but they have put together a good season. Poor showing against Duke but has the B1G whipping boy, Illinois left.

Mark Dantonio - Michigan State - Preseason O/U 6.5 wins
Spartans were supposed to be struggling to make a bowl game but have exceeded everyone’s expectations. Hammered by Notre Dame and Ohio State but won at Michigan and beat Penn State. Michigan State closes out the season with Rutgers to try and make it a 9-3 season.

I’m not going to be that guy and pick my coach. So I will go with Chryst. Has largely dominated their weak schedule and has the team headed towards a playoff spot if they can win their last two games.

Close race between Dantonio and Chryst IMO. Which one I would vote for hinges on whether or not Wisky wins their conference or not.

No love for Brohm? That place was a septic tank on fire and he's done a great job this year...

I’ll admit I overlooked him. Had Maryland not fallen apart after the Ohio State game I would have considered Durkin.

Went with Chryst, but wasn't sure.

As of recently, what Northwestern has been able to do is quite remarkable and should put Fitzgerald near the top of the list.

Given what Fitzgerald has to deal with, what he does there is fairly remarkable. No lower standards for student athletes, they are not a destination program, then you have the weather. I am surprised he hasn’t been poached by another program.

I'm astonished NW has been able to hold on to Fitzgerald as long as they have, even with the home appeal. My own curiousity would love to see what he could do at an easier admission and bigger profile school

I feel the same with Mississippi State and Mullens.

I guess some people are just happy and successful in the underdog role.

If Auburn parts ways with Mahlzahn, they would be wise to try and get Fitzgerald.

Is Miss St a tough school to get in to? I always thought Vandy was the "Northwestern" of the SEC.

Many had Northwestern winning the West this season but they struggled early. Now, they're looking like the team that many expected.

PC will win coach of the year for the country not just the BIG, the coaching specialist of the year will go to Jim Leonhard, the freshman of the year will go to Johnathan Taylor.

I really think Mullen does want to leave Starkville but the problem for him not getting another job is that he doesn't interview very well.

I actually think Mullen was a safer choice for Florida than Chip Kelly. I think Kelly has the higher potential, but if he crashes and burns you are left with a bunch of system players that a lot of coaches have no use for

Not at all, but it's got bad facilities, no history, and is a pretty awful city to visit. Ole Miss should easily out recruit them annually.

Bigger schools have had to come after him by now. I don't think he will ever leave.

Who knows if the bigger schools are trying to get him for cheap because he’s at a program he will never really be able to compete at.
