Afternoon doug. Being JV's biggest fan....do you think there might be something wrong with Verlander? Two poor starts in a row. Just a coincidence? Or is age catching up with him and "the sharpness" fading?

Verlander had an ERA of about 5.40 through early May last year. Last I checked, he finished runner-up for the CY. Anyone who has watched him regularly knows that sluggish April starts are not all that unusual for him.

Yeah, I realize this was a taunt directed at Doug. Still....

I hate Billy Butler. When he played at KC he would hit .237 then hit 3 HR's when they played the Indians, then he would go right back to hitting .237

No, I grew up in a small town about 15-20 mins south of Barberton. White House is still there, but they have closed a few others. Thats some good food right there!

My wife & I have been talking about taking a trip back to Akron around Labor Day. Haven't been back home in more than 11 years. If that happens no doubt I'll be stopping out @ Marshallville for some grilling grub.

Yeah I remember you saying that. If she grew up in E. Akron did she go to East HS over by Goodyear Middle School? Although I'm not really sure if either school is still around. Also I heard that Garfield is closing (along w/ Kenmore) & the 2 schools will be combined & the new school will be where old Garfield is/was.
