I don't see 6 IP, 3 hits, 2 ER, 9 strikeouts as a "choke" of any kind. If anyone choked, it was Houston's offense, especially leaving the bases loaded in the 5th.

I'll also add that with 93 innings in his last 14 postseason appearances, pitching to an 8-3 record with a 1.94 ERA, I will no longer question Verlander's ability to pitch in the big games.

Unless I'm talking to doug, in which case I'll reference his 0-4 record and 5.67 ERA in World Series games, and say that he's a nancy boy, whose balls shrivel up like baby raisins on the game's biggest stage.

agreed. While it's fun to pile on dougy, I consider Verlander to be one of the best postseason pitchers of this generation (11-6, 3.07 ERA, 1.02 WHIP, 150/38 K/BB, 2 complete games in 135 innings).

As a considerate human being....I wish Verlander the best in gaining a World Series ring. However, the fact that it will be with Houston and not Detroit, leaves me with a little sorrow.
