Don't think there's much doubt about that.

I agree, but a lot of Twins fans point to his 2 bad games in the playoffs vs. The Yankees, one where he was on his 3rd inning of work, the other where A-Roid got him. Those idiots say that since Aguilera and Reardon won World Series, that they have better cases. But neither of them had the sustained dominance that Nathan did.

Tiger's outfield a total mess. They waived one time top prospect Steven Moya today. The also assigned Alex Presely (who hit over .400 this spring) to Toledo. Currently the outfield has Upton in left and some combination of JaCoby Jones, Tyler Collins, and Mikie Mahtook in center and right.

Looks like Moya was a "project" that didn't pan out. He is a one-tool player (hits for power). Doesn't make enough contact to overlook his other weaknesses (slow afoot and a brutal defensive outfielder). The Tigers were out of options on him, so I'm not surprised at the move.

One of the most solid and reliable sports traditions is ending. Detroit red wings miss play off for 1st time in over a quarter century! Hockey town readies for a new arena next year ..more stanly cups...

If only @MiamiVice were here to reason with you.

Its kind of hard to get too excited about that, when half of the league gets in.

Tigers swallow $8mil as they release Mike Pelfrey. Add the $5.5mil they chugged down when they said good bye to Mark Lowe and GM Avila should be getting his walking papers as well.

Possible 7,8,9 hitters in Tiger lineup: McCann, Tyler Collins, Jacoby Jones. WOW

(Pinch hitting for Tyler Collins - Mikki Mahtook!) Double Wow

Is it possible that the crowd will be chanting, "We want (Steven) Moya, We want Moya!", by mid April??????

Nope.

That is not possible.

WHeres Iggy gonna bat if that's the bottom three?

Glad they didn't catch the Bruins. Boston still holds onto that record.

Strike one, strike two on Avila. If Zimmermann has another crap year, it should be strike three, yer out.

7, 8 & 9 hitters don't concern me as much as 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 in the bullpen. And Zimm's health.

Also.... Mahtook and Jones both bring more to the table than Moya. No chants forthcoming from me.

Iggy will likely bat 9th. Ausmus seems sold on using Castellanos in the 2 spot, at least for the start of the season. Hopefully, JD isn't out for long.

#1 what? Certainly not a legit #1 starting pitcher on a team with legit playoff hopes.
Duffy hits 97 with accuracy and has a full arsenal and is projected to get 200 K. He was 12-3 last year and would have won 18 if he didn't start the year in the bullpen. He is a #1 starter for almost any team. He has just hit his stride.

But WHAT will Mahtook, Collins, and Jones bring to the table? Hopefully it is more than .230 BA with little power and only average defense.

As for Castellanos batting #2...that puts McCann in the #6 spot behind Upton. Followed by Jones, Collins, and Iggy. Pretty weak bottom half of order, at least power-wise.

Royals have so far announce that Nathan Karns will be their 5th starter leaving Travis Wood to the Bullpen. They have announced that Alex Gordon will be the leadoff man. They have announced that Raul Mondesi will start at second base. They are trying to decide who will not make the roster between infielders Christian Colon and Whit Merrifield. Also Brandon Moss will be the DH. Jorge Soler injured his oblique so Palo Orlando will start the season in right field.
