The division isn't as tough as we would like to think ... things start going right ... anything can happen.

Those odds were to win the World Series, not the division. Even if by some miracle we made the playoffs, the floor would get wiped with us in 3 straight in the divisional series. I'd say 120-1 would be a more realistic number on us breaking .500 this season. Granted, I'm not a gambler and after Leicester last year the oddsmakers aren't going to put up huge numbers any time soon.

I think the Tigers are 5:4 odds to have 3 or more veteran players hit the DL and miss major time during the season.

Has Doug crunched those numbers?

I think doug is just "phoning it in" right now. His posts and predictions lack that stink and sparkling stupidity that they had in the past. He's sticking to the old standards - Verlander and his awards, Cleveland (replacing KC) will fold under pressure, so and so can't carry some Detroit Tiger's jock, etc. Same old stuff. Is it possible that doug is outsourcing his comments to a bunch of neighborhood kids? Or has he reached the bottom of his very shallow barrel? It just might be that the combination of the failure of the Red Wings, the Lions' folding up like wet cardboard at season's end (and no ''doug predicted'' Superbowl), and of course, the Wolverines' and Jumping Jimbo's awful end to their season....all of that has just crushed the spirit of doug????

You are equally to blame, you know exactly what to say to get under his nerves. You easily bait him.

I think we won't be hearing from doug as much this season. His buffoonery is getting old and predictable. Rodney Dangerfield was funny with his string of one-liners....but I imagine if you saw his show every day, those one line jokes would get old quick.

Doug....it is time to leave your lounge act behind. :pound:

Brad Ausmus appears to be sweating the decision on whether to keep Steven Moya or Dixon Machado as their fourth bench player. Both are out of options. The fact that the Tigers are willing to settle for either one of these guys, says a lot about the depth of talent on the Tiger roster.

I am hoping more for a reload ... 3 good young starting pitchers (Fulmer, Norris Boyd). McCann (C), Iglesias (SS), Castellanos (3B) are just coming into their own. Zimmerman (SP), JD Martinez (RF) (if they keep him) and Upton (LF) entering their prime. Aging Cabrera (1B) and Verlander (SP) look strong. They have some gaps in 2018 but I am not ready to throw out the baby with the bath water.

1. Tigers will not resign JD Martinez. Their team salary is already near $200mil.
2. How you see Zimmermann entering any kind of "prime" is a mystery to me. He is 31 in May, BTW
3. Detroit - probably the worst minor league system in baseball. (At least in the bottom 5). So filling in those "gaps"...??????

Sad, very sad. Sort of like finding the singer who once had big hits, gold records, and Emmy's, singing at the corner bar to a dozen or so drunks. Should we yell out, "Break one off, doug!" ?

You literally have the most posts (by far) in this thread and in last year's thread.

The guy is a loser. His whole life on this thread depends on me. Go check my posts...he always has to post next. Guy knows Jack about baseball. Only what Chris Berman tells him on ESPN

Wish the Tigers wanted Avisail Garcia back.
