Where @CitySushi at? Need to read his take on the Warriors uh, situation.

On vacation right now but the kids are still sleeping so I thought I would check the hoop. Saw the Thunder game and the Warriors definitely deserved that ass whooping. They’re coming out to play really slow and lethargic. I’m not overly concerned about the turnovers because those will correct themselves. What I am concerned about is the lack of energy on defense. That’s unacceptable to me. The difference between this years team and last years team was when they didn’t bring it offensively, they were able to win games with their defense. As of late that’s certainly not the case.

The all star break comes at a great time. They need a mental reset to get them back on track. Hopefully this break will also serve as a reminder that there is a goal for the year and they need to lock-in to get it done.

Also don’t want to blame Kerr yet again because he doesn’t control the effort and execution of the players but I feel like he should call an audible from time to time on offense. When the team is clearly not executing the offense, why not just revert to a simple pick and roll for a couple plays. You have two of the greatest offensive players in the game. Let them do work. If the team passing is overal lousy, give the team a break by letting your stars do what they do best. The gripe with nearly all Warriors fans is that they barely ever run any pick and roll offense.

Long story short: this team needs to get back to basics.

Oh last thing about the Warriors is that their bench has been really bad. I mean legit terrible for the most part. Jordan Bell goes down with injury. Looney and West have been the only consistent players off the bench. Iguodala has been so bad on offense this year. He’s almost frustrating to watch. Livingston has been ok but he’s not going to really change a game dramatically. Young and Casspi have been really inconsistent. But the worst thing is Patrick McCaw has been pretty much unplayable yet Kerr seems to keep giving him minutes. McCaw just gave himself a demotion to the G-League. I’d rather see Quinn Cook in there as a backup over McCaw at this point.

The Warriors are gonna need someone from that bench to step up.

Damn. You aren't as domestic as @LAD.
Don't believe that! She wouldn't still be married to a Latino man if she weren't! :nono:

So the rumor going around is Danny Green and a first rounder for Avery Bradley....that's WAAAAAY too much if you're the Spurs. Green's defense alone should keep him untouchable. Trade Mills, if anyone. He's been garbage this season.

Couldn't agree more here. McCaw has just been terrible. And I say terrible because with all of his opportunities to play last season - then winning a ring - the expectation was that he would come back better this season. He did not.

 what??? Avery Bradley is a better defender IMO. What they should be doing is trying to figure out how to get Simmons back. :dhd:

Green is much better in transition, kinda what makes him stand out.

Simmons is overrated cause he did what he did to Cleveland. Really good but not what the Spurs need. I was sad he left but I don't think he would be of much help right now.

Boston didn't do him right, although it's a business. But I can't fault Cleveland for getting rid of him. He's done basically everything wrong that you could do over there.

I could see Cleveland start to get past their struggles now.
