* wipes sweat from brow*

Good.

They don't usually put fan shit on the Hoopshype front page. So, I was a lil nervous.

That pick might not be great and I want no parts of Tristan and even less of maxing that midget.

Why trade Lou Williams for a shorter, broken more expensive uber version of himself?

I get why a Clipper fan would not want IT.

What I don't get is why Cleveland would trade him without returning a Bona dude star who fits the Cavs roster a little better. Lou williams isn't it.

If we wait another year I'm done and looking for a new fucking team. Never seen this much losing since I have been a fan.

Not happy

Seriously?!?

After the Short Buss regime, you expected things to improve overnight? Do you realize how deep the pile of shit was that Short Buss left for Jeanie, Magic and Pelinka to clean up?

The fact that they have put together a team that is competitive pretty much every night and has as much upside as this one and that max FA's are even a possibility for them is a minor miracle, imo.

Don't come crawling back with the stench of some other team on you when this team starts to fulfill it's potential. lol

Because the CAvs don't value him and know they aren't going to max him.

But the Cavs have LeBron right now. If they package IT + the Brooklyn pick, they had best get Cousins or someone at his level. Otherwise it is a bad deal.

So, how good is Trae Young?

All the hype is about Bagley, Porter and the bigs, but Young might end up being better than all in the guard dominated NBA.

Dude, Simmer down.

This might look worse on paper.

But, it's better than the Smush Parker, Kwame days.

They compete most nights.

It takes time when you have a roster full of children.

You want to get SOMEBODY.

But, not just ANYBODY.

* See Deng

Exactly. If the Lakers can't land the right guy(s) this off season, I am perfectly fine with giving the young guys another season to learn and develop and trying again in 2019. No more Deng/Mozgov panic moves.

Heck, if they don't land anyone this off season and some of these young guys continue to develop, landing a max guy may not seem as important in 2019.

I totally agree.

Only thing I can think of is they want to make LeBron happy.

Not sure why he'd be Jordan > Cousins since DeAndre passed on Klutch and Boogie is clearly better.

Maybe NOLA isn't ready to blow it up?

That is a tremendous overpay. Why would Isaiah Thomas be in the deal? TT + Brooklyn pick for DJ makes sense.
Ps. You also have to remember that this is the same team that gave up two 1st rounders for Mosgov.

Asset management is not a strong suit.

^^^THIS^^^

There are literally 2 main things that are hurting the Lakers right now and both are fixable. Those are free throw shooting and execution down the stretch in close games.

The Lakers are the worst free throw shooting team in the league right now. If they were just at the league average in free throw shooting, they'd have a minimum of 4 more wins. So that's fixable with more practice and adjusting to shooting free throws in game vs. practice.

The lack of execution late in games is something that every young team goes through. It's part of the learning process.

Eh, at the time it wasn't so bad. Those picks between 28-30 usually end up being worth very little. They got a rotation big who helped them win a couple Finals games until the Warriors learned how to completely exploit him.

I agree they could have gotten a better player, but still.

I have a feeling Porter could end up being a huge steal. He would be in the convo for #1 if healthy.

I haven't seen Doncic or Young play yet. But the Young highlights look pretty ridiculous.

Agree

Porter gonna be the Embiid of this draft class.

All the talent to be a Superstar. But, injury concerns will make him fall.

So I watched a lot of this game (UVA wasn't on).

Highly impressed with Young. The Curry comparison is pretty obvious, but the crazy thing is that we are comparing him to the late 20s Warrior version. Curry wasn't doing this against lesser competition at Davidson as a Junior, let alone a Freshman.

I know Young probably won't be the first pick, but there is a really good chance we will look back at this draft in 10 years and say WTF were these teams thinking when they passed on Young? Kid is real.

He's been moving up mock drafts like crazy. I think he goes top 5 unless there is a significant drop off in his play by the end of the season. Two weeks ago I saw him at 12th and 19th in 2 different mock drafts. Now I'm seeing him as 3rd only behind Ayton and Bagley. In another mock, he is going 4th so kid looks like he is a top 5 pick once he keeps this up
