I understand if she said this on her show which airs on their network but she said this on her own twitter page.

Doesn't matter. She's a 24/7 representative of the company. People get suspended/fired all the time for shit they post on social media.

I would just quit if I'm her. ESPN is like a controlling spouse. I understand if she said this on her show which airs on their network but she said this on her own twitter page. You know how many sport ppl I follow who is constantly voicing their opinion regarding the current issues and doesn't have to go through the BS ESPN is putting her through.

Should be noted that she even posted this right before I believe

FWIW, I don't think she got suspended for political tweets. She's still been doing that ever since the first issue a couple of week ago. She got suspended because she fucked with sponsors, some of which ESPN shares with the Cowboys which she mentioned in the boycott tweet. It's a fairly clear conflict that is justifiable with punishment but it gets clouded by all the other shit so it makes it hard for people to separate what's what. It would help if ESPN had a competent PR department so they wouldn't keep tripping over themselves as well so people would actually understand what's going. Over the last few years, they've constantly mishandled shit like this

Only way this is a bad deal is if Embiid suffers a career ending injury this year. Even if he gets hurt again (season ending, not career) the Sixers were going to pay him because they don't have a choice. With Embiid they have the start to a possible contending caliber nucleus. Without him, they will be lucky to be Trail Blazers East.

I think its a bad deal full stop because its totally unnecessary right now. And I say this as a huge Embiid fan that's been on him since people we're blowing up Wiggins at Kansas and I was like "Hold up, who is that other guy?". He's too big of a risk. There's no need to sign him. If you don't do the extension and he stays healthy, he hits restricted free agency so you can just match the offer. If he does get hurt again, you move on without locking yourself in. Unless this deal is loaded with all kinds of clauses and insurances, its a huge and unnecessary risk

Good move with Embiid

It'll only cost the Sixers $15m a game.

They must have made this decision based on our stellar medical staff.... oh, wait.
Feels like they are pushing all in with suited connectors or a pair of 10s.

Regardless, I like the deal given that there are protections based on his health, though we have to wait to see what those details are.

Why would any Eastern Conference team vote for this???

It won't have the impact you're expecting. The best possible outcome is that we get better matchups each round, but last season the same 16 teams would've made the playoffs. Of course, schedule changes may have changed that. Besides, everything is cyclical and it could mean more Eastern teams in the playoffs depending on which conference is better in that midrange (West being more top heavy).

Sorry, I disagree (not about the political views). Hill literally said that fans should boycott the advertisers for the Cowboys (and I believe the Cowboys themselves). That's attacking the NFL brand, especially considering the Cowboys are one of their cash cows. What Hill does reflects on ESPN in that sense. Hill has a following and the NFL will want to know why ESPN isn't doing anything about it. Unfortunately in today's age, you can't go about saying whatever you want. I work for a prominent cloud provider and we've had one co-worker who voiced his opinion in a controversial manner on Facebook get the axe. Always think before you click send.

There are dozens of cases where people have been outspoken and said controversial things which got them fired. It becomes a different story where people screen shot what you say and forward it to your place of employment. Which I think the latter is a bitch move. I would never get in the way of someone's living. I can think someone's a fucking idiot and that their view is blatantly ignorant and all of that other bull shit. But yeah.......Hill's not afforded that luxury as the present situation has taught us.

Personally, I'm not a big fan of Hill. So take my opinion of her with a grain of salt if you wish.

It's "RWbiggestfan" where I give out backhanded compliments to him.

Some of my greatest tweets are:

"Russ will be the greatest point guard in history to never win anything. BOOK IT. #greatness"

"You can keep your rings, Triple Doubles are in the record books. #realwinning"

"Russ is probably the greatest professional athlete to ever live, except for maybe John Daly"

"There's no question Russ is gunning for dethroning the runaway leader. Kate Spade, watch your back."
