Other than 3 and 5, I agree with your scenarios. #3 because I'm obviously a Miami. #5, because the media slurps the SEC. If that scenario plays out, they'd put both Bama and UGA in. I think a 4-team playoff is fine. Because soon we'll have people complaining about leaving the #9 team out.

Very true but I can deal with them since the 9th team almost always has 2 losses at least. Sometimes 3. Right now leaving the 5th team out is leaving out a team who may have gone undefeated (in certain years) just leaves a nasty taste in my mouth

I'd probably say expand to 6, where numbers 1 and 2 get a bye.

I'm fine with that also. Wouldn't mind that at all. Better than 4

I agree. My best teams this year have been Bama, Oklahoma, Clemson, Auburn (2-loss team, but better than UGA who's likely going to get smashed by Bama in the SECCG), Miami and Wiscy. In that scenario, Bama and OU would deserve the bye.

I think Clemson is very overrated IMO

Too many teams. It used to be where 1 loss could cripple a team. Now it's 2.

Limit them to an 11 game reg season and they could play a max of 3 games.

4 vs 5 matchups would be good, as would the 3 vs 6.

And you might have the occasional 1-8 and 2-7 upets.

I just don't like seeing an 8-team playoff. Outside of the teams I mentioned, I don't think others should be considered. Takes away from the mystique and purity that CFB has where every game essentially counts.

Did you watch the Miami game?

In terms of Miami vs. Clemson - it's a playoff game. Winner gets in, loser goes to the Orange Bowl as a consolation (so long as Clemson doesn't lose to South Carolina). The playoff committee's not going to leave out a 1-loss conference champion. You're crazy if you think that's going to happen.

I give it up to Saban. His dictatorship style keeps his kid's in check and prevents them from drinking their own kool-aid.
